  • We All Wear Masks
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] Lots of people have different masks for different days, and perhaps different occasions. Masks are those things that allow us to assume that we are different from other people.

  • How to Be Nobody's Victim
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] It is very easy to fall a victim of a mean enemy parading as a friend. Nobody knows where God is taking you, even if they can read your star. And God does not respect anyone's age, education, financial clout or social status. He will not take permission from anyone in order to elevate you. Remind yourself always that you are a Work-in-Progress, fitting into God's complete Master plan.

  • What Will People Say?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] We all have basic knowledge of right and wrong. Peer pressure (according to Karen Dockrey), is more than a direct invitation to do wrong. It is that uneasy feeling you get when you wear jeans to a party when everyone else is in elaborate gown or tuxedos. But the only person you talk to about inner conflict is yourself, and this can be a very lonely, confusing struggle. Repeat to yourself daily "being like others is no guarantee they'll like or accept me".

  • Sounds of a Distant Drummer
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God's commands, but it's pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge.

  • How to Make Sense Out of Nonsense
[Writing-and-Speaking:Public-Speaking] Most people can speak, but making sense when we speak is a task that must be learned. If someone says you are "talking nonsense", take it as an advice. Try to see if you can yourself, make sense of what you are saying. If it sounds confusing to you, it probably sounds confusing to others.

  • Where Will You Be on 20th January 2009?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] A day like today, Barack Obama has proved that it is not the colour of your skin, the meaning of your name, or the country you grew up in, that will make you or break you. What will make you, and make you stand out, are the beliefs you hold, the goals you set, choices you make, the determination, the resolve, the action. What will make for change, is the attitude we take and we maintain, the things we profess, where we draw the lines, and what people will remember us by. The journey to change does not stop with electing an American President. The journey towards change must be born in us, individaully, and collectively... Yes, We Can!

  • Are You Afraid to Stand Up and Speak?
[Self-Improvement:Coaching] Fear is a deep rooted feeling, having its origin almost at the foundation of one's life. Lots of people cannot even speak to save their own lives., but the fear of failure is the most commonly spoken about. So many people are the bullies in their relationships, without even knowing it, subtly demanding that their so called friends "keep quiet" when they are around. I soon realised that I am the only who can really place any value of significance upon my own self. I removed the responsibility to love me, from other people, and placed it squarely on my own shoulders. I then learnt to love myself, without any apologies or repentance.

  • Benefiting From the Power of the "Foregone Conclusion"
[Business:Sales] The "Foregone Conclusion" presents your client with a number of options, which allows them to believe that they are the ones making the actual decisions..."

  • I Believe I Can Fly
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Life will hand out its bitter lemons, but if you can endure those bitter pills, you will find that they can actually be good for the body. In fact, they make the body lighter and fitter, and more ready for flight.. (I mean, the lemons..). In my opinion, "Flying" is very symbolic. Not that you "spread your wings" and become a bird, and "fly away", but that you give yourself permission to "become"! The permission to "BE" the success you have always dreamt of, of seen only in other people. I am not implying that "becoming" who you are meant to be is easy. No, not by a long shot. What with all the bitter lemons that life and it's folks have gathered to offer you, and perhaps, force down your throat. But first, you must give yourself that chance. Permit yourself to dream. Allow yourself to see it, believe it, and to attempt it. Honestly, "there's nothing to it". If you believe it, you can achieve it. Hey, if I just spread my wings, I will fly away. I believe I can fly.

  • What Do You See?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] Have you noticed how when you overtake someone, they can get quite upset? Why, you often wonder, are they upset? If the space was not theirs before you got there, why should they be upset that you took it before they did?

  • Heads Or Tails?
[Relationships] Many children grow up on nursery rhymes and hide-and-seek. These games are great for educational progression and character formation. Take "Heads or Tails" for instance. It is used to determine who does what, or who gets what. Adults usually introduce this game to kids as they grow.

  • Here Are Five Ways To Be Rich
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] By now, you probably know if you were born in a rich family or not. If you were not born in a rich family, my guess is that it's already too late for that to happen in your life. Don't despair, you are in the majority of people...

  • It's Not Too Late To Set Goals For This Year
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] Last year, you attended so many seminars, workshops and lectures on "How To Make Money From Your Chair", "6 Ways To Manage Your Time", "21 Reasons Why You Must Make Progress". At the end of the year, you sat yourself down, got yourself a cup of your favourite beverage, and advised yourself that "this year, you must make progress, you must manage your time better, and you must make money!

  • Another Kind of Slavery
[Self-Improvement] We need to be asking real questions. Are we welcome "abroad" any longer? The tide of "Welcomes" keeps turning drastically. Sometimes it's soft, sometimes it rages, and sometimes, it's an outright Tsunami!

  • A New Alien Citizenry
[Arts-and-Entertainment:Humor] "Alien" is a "person who comes from a foreign country", ... is synonymous with "stranger", and also refers to... "extraterrestrial being". But, disturbing trends have emerged... People who were ordinarily quiet would be seen pacing up and down office corridors, street corners or shopping malls talking and smiling into space, or shouting and pointing fingers, gesticulating menacingly at seemingly imaginary friends or adversaries... Everywhere you look new aliens abound... communicating via satellite cell stations, as if in commune with a "higher order", one might be tempted to look in the sky to see if there are any UFO's around.

  • Are You Going My Way?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] People who don't know your story, want to tell it with conviction; some, who don't know your past, want to colour your future; others who don't know where you're coming from, make themselves the authority and resounding voices in your life and matters when your fate is being decided; those who don't know where you're heading, want to get there before you; others who don't know how you've so struggled to get up, make plans to pull you back down.
