Inspired to write articles that may reach out and offer a positive message for those who may be lost and alone in their walk. I write as the Lord directs me. "Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." ... • The War From Within
[News-and-Society:Religion] "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end." These words from Jesus came to my mind as I thought about an article that I recently read. It occurred to me that the war isn't necessarily nation against nation but kingdom against kingdom. The war I'm regarding is from within the so-called unity of our military. It is the war raging against the heavenly kingdom and the kingdom of powers and principalities that I am addressing.

  • What Is The Hope You Have?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If someone asked you what hope you had for your future, would you know how to answer them? I suppose it would depend on what you believed your future to be. It could be the near future concerning your life on earth and how you intend on spending it, or you might consider your future as eternal. If your hope is one of eternity, your answer might surprise some people. For a born again believer in Christ, they all have one hope and that is an eternal life in heaven and it begins right here on earth. Are we prepared to give an answer for the hope we have to those who don't understand?

  • A Renewed Mind for a New Year
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] It is a new year. I am hopeful that it will be much better than the last. God is about to make many changes in my life but unless I am ready to receive them by a renewing of my mind, nothing much will change during this next year. Can I sit back and expect that God is going to magically turn my life around for the better? No, that isn't Biblical or realistic. I do know that God will do His part in my life as long as I will do mine. I am aware that my prosperity will only result in a renewing of my mind, not just on the concept that a new year will automatically usher in better days ahead. My blessings will be a result of the renewing of my mind. Will you join me this new year in a renewing of your mind as well?

  • Opinion Vs Truth
[News-and-Society:Religion] This upcoming election seems to be wrapped around religious and moral issues. I never thought religion and politics went together because of so many opinions that were formed with the two. In fact, it's nearly impossible to find any two people who can agree on all the same issues about any one thing. It usually results in an argument of who's right and who's wrong. With all the many different opinions, it seems futile to even try discussing them. Can we really just agree to disagree? Will this solve the real issues? I believe there are true opinions, but does that make them truth?

  • If What You Are Doing Isn't Changing, Then Change What You Are Doing
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There is nothing more promising than getting another chance in life. Every year at this time, we look ahead to a new and fresh start. But is it possible to enter into a new year full of hope without changing some things before we leave this one behind? Unless we keep pursuing the hopes we have by faith, nothing will change in the upcoming year. If what you are doing isn't changing anything, then it's time to change what you are doing.

  • Weaving A Tapestry of Apostasy
[News-and-Society:Religion] Apostasy is on the rise. It's the attack of the silent killer, it's the wolves who come dressed in sheep's clothing. It's about those who gain the trust of unsuspecting Christians with intent to kill them, destroy them and steal from them.

  • A Way In The Manger
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] In my last article called "Humble Beginnings" I spoke about Mary's attributes that made her pregnancy so special. From the moment the angel announced "The Gift" she was about to receive from God, she understood the meaning. She was the chosen vessel in which to bring God's Son into the world.

  • Humble Beginnings
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] It's this year at Christmas time, I wanted to reflect on the great act of humbleness by the mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The part that Mary played in the Christmas story was not only humiliating for her, but it was most of all humbling even at the risk of being put to death. As Christians today, can we be humbled by the gift that God placed in us or we can feel humiliated by others who think we are "Holier than Thou, Bible Thumping Jesus Freaks" Mary, the mother of Jesus faced death by stoning, but her ultimate humbleness overcame her fear of humiliation. This was the most humble of beginnings for a Christ child in which to arrive.

  • Do You Know What You Really Want? Be Careful, You Just Might Get It!
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Perhaps this won't sound like a very merry message for this time of year, but what better time than now? Christmas isn't just a time to get involved in ourselves and all the material hype. Rather, it's a time to be reminded of the whole reason for the season. If it weren't for the birth of Jesus on this earth, we would all be left fending for ourselves and heading straight for hell in a hand basket. We should be constantly reminded of the most precious gift that is offered to us freely at no cost. Unless we do realize this and turn from our sins, God just might give us what we are asking for...a life without Him!

  • Where Is 'Peace' on Earth?
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] At this supposedly time of "peace on earth and good will toward man" season, I am quite aware that these are just pleasantries found on Christmas cards. Ooops, did I just say "Christmas"? I'm being told that this offends those who are not Christians. Well, all this anti Christmas stuff that's going around is most offensive to me. When did America become a nation founded on Islam or any other religious belief for that matter? I will uphold my Christian beliefs to the end. I will not take a back seat to anyone who thinks otherwise. It's time the rest of us Christians take a firm stand on this as well before we find ourselves living under a fascist regime where terror abounds. Peace will come once Christ the King returns to His throne, not a second sooner. For now, peace is not found anywhere on this earth.

  • Do We Trust Only in the Things We See?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Trust...now that's a word that is most difficult to get a grip off. Trust requires the utmost of faith and belief from the one who is giving it. People have a tendency to break our total trust when they swear they are loyal and will never hurt us and then will do just that. But so many times, because of our human depravity, we can't stand up to being fully trusted or trusting someone else for that matter. We so often times will say, "I'll trust you when you show me." When it comes to other people, we have to see it. But God, demands that we trust Him even when we don't see the blessings. How do we do this? It goes against our nature, but this is where our faith must lead us to trust in Him even when we can't see a way out.

  • Victory in the Battle
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I love to watch movies that show hand to hand combat such as Braveheart and Lord of the Rings~Trilogy. These truly show what it takes to get the victory. In the Trilogy, Frodo Baggins had to complete his mission in order to destroy evil, his friends also vowed to do their best in fighting off the enemy. Many times it seemed all was hopeless as they were out numbered, but as true men of faith, they kept their eye on the goal which was to overcome the evil and its hold on the world. Christians are in a similar battle today, only theirs is spiritual and they can't see their opponent. This makes the battle that much more difficult. It's not out of sight, out of mind. Rather it's very real and very deadly...unless you know you already have the victory while still in the battle!

  • Problems are Only Problems When Taken Out of Perspective
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Problems are perplexing for us because we can't get a handle on them. They become bigger when we get overly anxious and don't put them in proper perspective. I understand that our human nature tends to create bigger problems even before anything happens. But, I'm discovering that no matter how big my own problems seem to be, God is bigger and in knowing this, it puts my problems into proper perspective. I can then get a handle on the solution when I trust in the Sovereign God Who knows me better than I know myself. After all, a problem is only a problem when we take it out of perspective. When we understand God's perspective, our problems become insignificant in the light of the overall picture. God is a very big God, we need to trust Him in order to know true peace. How big is your problem compared to God?

  • Without the Pain, There Won't Be the Gain
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] It has taken me awhile to understand that without pain in life, we won't appreciate the victory when we get one. There are things that happen to each and every one of us in life that we just can't understand why they happen. It's our nature to want things without going through the pain to get them. But, in reality this just will not happen. As a Christian who is learning more and more about the life that God expects me to have, I am accepting the pain in life in order to gain the peace and joy of righteousness along the way. Without the pain, I won't be able to learn about the ulitimate love that God wants me to gain for the final outcome. Are you facing obstacles today that aren't making any sense? Let God know how you feel and then get quiet in order to hear His answer. He will have one for you.

  • When Knowledge and Understanding Come Together
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There are times when we may have "head knowledge" of something, but yet we don't really know how everything works. It still doesn't make sense. We just know that things work without fully understanding how. I'm discovering all the time that when my knowledge of God's Word reveals a deeper understanding, I become more mature in my faith. God's Word will illuminate the truth in increments. It takes years, if not forever to fully comprehend God's messages. But when our head knowledge becomes a spiritual revelation, the undeniable truth finally makes a whole lot of sense. God wants us to not only know His Word in "head knowledge", but experience it in a way that proves it is what it says it is...the whole truth!

  • Is There Anything New Under The Sun?
[News-and-Society:Religion] With the perplexities going on in my own life, I was directed to the book of Habakkuk. I gained spiritual insight for my life but I want to talk about the prophetic message for all of us.

  • From Cloudy to Clear
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Due to a water shortage at the beginning of summer, we had to keep the same water in our pool from last year. We thought the right mixture of chemicals and chlorine would take care of the situation. But, much to our disappointment, the water never did clear up. It remained cloudy which was frustrating because last summer the pool was gorgeous. This did not deter me from going in however. I knew the water was clean, I just couldn't see the bottom. It wasn't anything that we neglected to do. Sometimes life gives us a clouded view even though we are doing everything right. We still have to jump in and get wet.

  • Let The Son Shine In
[News-and-Society:Religion] It occurred to me while driving home one Sunday afternoon after services, I was listening to a song from my youth and I found it most disturbing. What I once thought was a "good" song now made me aware of the lies and deception we are under when we are in the dark. I thank the Lord that He has brought me out into the glorious light to be able to discern all the lies that are blinding the world. If we believe in the "new age" movement like the Fifth Dimension sang about in "Age of Aquarius", that sun shining in will blind us spiritually. But when we let the Son shine in, our eyes will be focused on the truth that will set us free! Have you let the Son shine in your life?

  • God Is Always Good - Even When Life Isn't
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Sometimes the life of a Christian doesn't seem very good. And sometimes it seems to be out of control altogether. We wonder why God would let us suffer. As humans, our first instinct is to blame someone else for our misery. When our so called charmed Christian lives turn sour, we point a finger at God and ask, "God, where are You, didn't You hear my prayers?"

  • The Act of Faith Must First Be Activated
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We all know about things that first must be activated in order to work. Activation is the key element that puts something into motion. Faith is one of those things that must be activated before it will work. We can say we have faith, until something doesn't go as planned. This is where we either act upon our faith and believe God will do what He says He will, or act upon the circumstance to do it ourselves. If we take it upon ourselves, it isn't faith. Faith is only activated by true trust in the Lord God Almighty. Don't mistake faith for just an act, it's not an outward show for others to see. Faith is action! In order for faith to work, it must be activated through the power of the Holy Spirit, not by our power or might!

  • Never Over Analyze Or Under Estimate The Mind Of God
[News-and-Society:Religion] This article is about knowing and growing in the love of Christ. Sometimes what we see in the natural is a big disappointment. We come up against a force of evil and we try to use God to counteract it in our lives. We don't want to suffer the consequences, we want to be lifted out of the mess without a scratch on us. But, this is not how God answers us. It's not that God hasn't heard our prayers or laid them to the side. On the contrary, He chastises His children so they can grow up and mature and earnestly know that their Father has never left them nor will He ever forsake them. It's never wise to over analyze or under estimate the mind of God. Why? Because His ways are higher than our ways. No one will ever fully understand why He does what He does. It's all about grace.

  • Fragile, Handle With Care
[News-and-Society:Religion] Fragile...handle with care. This is something that calls attention to the contents. It alerts us in the hadling of the delicate item. It tells us that it's prone to break if mishandled. We automatically know it's something to be treated with the utmost gentle care. This is how we are to treat our lives and the lives of others. God considers us as fragile creatures and we must be handled with great care. When we live our lives entrusted to His care, He promises to take this earthly life and give it eternal life with Him in His heavenly kingdom. Death is considered to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. Are you handling your life with great care today?

  • When Going in Reverse is No Longer An Option
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Instead of seeing the bad in things, I would rather see a lesson to be learned. When we can focus on the positive, it's amazing how God can move in our lives. Not everything unfortunate that happens in life is meant for evil, often times it is a lesson that God wants us to learn in order that He can keep us going in a forward motion. It's when we keep putting one foot in front of the other when we will eventually make head way. It's not about speed, it's more one of diligence and patience with faith in the One Who is leading. It's pointing ourselves in the right direction in order to get where God needs us to be. When we focus on Him and not on the problems, we will learn that going in reverse is no longer an option.

  • See A Need... Fill A Need
[Self-Improvement:Leadership] A couple summers ago, the animated movie called Robots hit the theaters. It was about an innovative, young entrapeneur robot named Rodney Copperbottom. His dad who never got to see his own dream come true, always told his young son, "If you see a need, fill a need." So Rodney set off on his own to make the world of robots a little better place. But his high hopes were quickly dashed when Bigweld, the owner of the company was no longer running it. A new, improved and younger robot was now in charge. His plans were to destroy all the old, worn out 'bots and turn them into new and better replacement parts for the rich, hip and young 'bots who were up and coming. This is a message of truest proportions that is sweeping America today. If we see a need to be filled, it's our need that we attend to, everyone else is just out of luck. We relay the message that it takes prestige and money in order to amount to anything. This message is wrong!

  • When Standing Gets You Farther Than Running
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] When I say life can be a rat race, most everyone will agree. We are programmed into running around for the most part. Running is often equated with winning, and gaining and finishing first. Sometimes we just automatically run to something or often times away from something. As long as we run in any direction, we feel we are going to get somewhere. The only problem with running is that sometimes we will miss the mark altogether. Running often times will not get us to the desired goal and it is wasted energy. Standing on the other hand, can be harder to do, but the end result will not be a waste of enegy. Sometimes, it's just standing that will get us across the finish line.

  • Wisdom-What Is It Good For?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If you had one prayer to pray, what would you ask the Lord to give you? Would it be wealth, or security? Would it be happiness, or health? Like Solomon, I have prayed for godly wisdom and discernment because when you gain that, then everything else will follow. To know and fear the Lord in a way that gives you His wisdom, He blesses with prosperity in every area of our lives. His wisdom, when we seek it, is designed to bring us all these other things that we only think we need in order to be happy. It's not about head knowledge, it's about knowing the true ways of God that we will live a life that honors Him. This in turn fulfills our lives in a way that the world could never offer. So, what exactly are the benefits of wisdom over wealth, health and happiness? With wisdom you get all these...and more!

  • Have We Lost Sight of Our Proposed Principles?
[News-and-Society:Religion] Over 200 years, which is a mere wisp in time, I can't help but wonder if our forefathers who founded this country's freedom are rolling over in their graves. The very things they left England for and set up a new America, one nation under God, has all but been removed. We are no longer one nation under God, in fact, we are a nation where God's name is becoming offensive. As what started out to be a Christian nation, Christians are being persecuted and ridiculed for their faith. It's everyone else who has the right to practice their religions. God and the very mention of His Almighty name has become a stumbling block and as a result, our society as Americans are beginning to trip and fall. Does the younger generation even know the proposed principles that our country was founded upon? Who will tell them?

  • What Can We Learn From Life's Little Lessons?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I am reminded of something that happened to my husband and I several years ago. I have to laugh to myself when I visualize the whole scenario of events, but I also am reminded of the life's lesson and what we learned as a result of it. Life offers us many chances to learn from the lessons that it challenges us with at the time. Not only do they provide us with memories, but the chance to see a higher power at work in our lives. I never took the time to actually think about this memory in this way, but God has brought it to my mind as a reminder that He is always in control and He cares for us, even while we are still sinners. Are you teachable to the lessons that life offers you?

  • When God Calls...Will You Stand or Fall?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If there's one thing amazing about the Grace of God, it's the fact that He doesn't use extraordinary people to do extraordinary things. It seems to be His overall plan to use the most ordinary person, the one who is voted least likely to succeed. This is the kind of person that draws attention when they do mighty acts of faith for the glory of God. This is something that deserves attention, even from people who don't understand the Sovereignty of God. He can and will get His point across, even to a person with no apparent special gifts. All it takes is a willingness to obey. Will you stand or fall when God calls?

  • When Tomorrow Never Comes
[News-and-Society:Religion] They say there are two things for certain in life...one is death and the other is taxes. I suppose some people have escaped taxes, but there is no one who has ever escaped death. Everyone has to make a choice about where they will spend the next life. We are all give one of two choices, heaven or hell. For those who have made arrangements for heaven have accepted Christ as their redeemer. For everyone else who hasn't come to that decision yet is considered lost or as God says, condemned already to hell. Either way, a person's soul will enter heaven or not. We may not want to think about it, but there's no getting around it. We just don't know when tomorrow may never come.

  • A Day to Pray
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Every year around this same time, Christians all over the United States come together in agreement through prayer. Better known as the "National Day of Prayer". There is a lot of power behind the fervent prayer of the righteous man. There are so many issues that need prayer and intercession. I applaud the attempt that people are making right now to raise money for the needy all around the world. It is making people sit up and take notice of the condition of this planet. But, more than anything, we need to bring our petitions before the good Lord for other issues that are taking place in the 21st century. Won't you join us on this special day of prayer?

  • The Day of Revelation is Being Revealed
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There is one thing for certain and that is the return of Christ. His first return will result in the beginning of the Tribulation. This will be the most horrific seven years this world has ever known. After that, Christ will return once more and will set up His millenium reign in Israel at which time, every knee will bow and confess that He is Christ the King! No one will escape this confession. We who do believe, are told that no one knows the time of this event, but we are also told not to be ignorant of the signs of His coming. Today, we can read the signs all over the news. Have you read any of them? God is revealing His day of Revelation.

  • When Life Doesn't Seem Fair
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There is one thing for certain and that is life just isn't fair! How can we understand this? Before I was saved, I just couldn't understand why bad things would happen to good people. Now that I am saved, I am understanding that bad things happen to everyone, whether they are bad, good, saved or unsaved. Life just isn't fair, that's all there is to it. But now as I walk close to my Lord, I can understand now some of the reasons why we must all go through adversities. Especially as a child of God's. Life was never promised to be fair, but when God's favor is upon your life, it is a lot easier to accept when things don't seem to go your way. How do we handle it when life just doesn't seem fair?

  • Too Little Known About the Battle Zone
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Last week a horrendous thing happened in our own back yard. It is now known as the single largest mass killing by one individual in the U.S. I'm speaking about the 32 innocent lives that were claimed before their time on this earth was done. The young man was also a victim of this world's system. He thought this heinous act would gain him immortality but was dead wrong. He has gained a one way entrance into a place we refer to as hell. Who can do such a thing? Where do people get these ideas in the first place? The world and those "in" the world are to blame but it doesn't end there. The world is run by a free agent. We know him as Satan. This is the beginning. When we are employed by him and do sinful acts against the Lord, a battlezone will always be ensued and guess who's in the front lines? This subject is one that is not addressed enough or taken seriously enough. We need to know more in order to be ready for battle at any time and win!

  • Let the Buyer Beware!
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Just because someone on a Christian station professes to be a Christian, doesn't automatically make is so. As children of God, we need to learn discernment in God's Word in order to recognize who the wolves in sheeps' clothing are. Christians seem to have the reputation of being push overs. You know, the ones who trust everyone and believe everything! We are not suppose to be weary of scams that are sold in the "name of Christ". We are not to get angry, which leads the world to assume we are naive. Truth is, the word says we should get angry...but sin not! When God's truth is being turned into a folly of lies, we should get angry! A Christian should desire wisdom above wealth. But yet, there are those who come in the name of the Lord to play upon our fleshly desires...and theirs. There are many so called Christians who promise "Miracles for Money". Buy your healing, buy your happiness, get a new car etc. Name it and claim it. Is this really what God promises? Beware of what you buy, you could be buying right into the hands of the enemy!

  • Does God Cry?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Have you ever wondered if God cries? For most of us, we probably don't give it much thought. Why should an Almighty God cry anyway, what would He have to cry about? As humans, we know all too well about crying. We are just one big ball of emotion. We cry out of sheer happiness, we cry over helplessness, we cry when we are saddened in heart, we cry when we are angry or hurt, we cry when we are glad, we cry when our hearts are heavy and grieved. We cry out loud, we cry silently, we cry sometimes for no reason at all! We are crying creatures. Being that we are made in God's image, and are the only creature that does cry for emotional reasons, I know that God for a fact does cry. I'm going to prove it.

  • What Does Christ Expect From You?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] When I was a child, and even the mother of young children, Easter was always a happy time. It was the beginning of spring, warm weather, easter baskets full of dyed eggs and chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. It was dressing up and going to church...and oh yea, Jesus rose to life after He was nailed to a cross. But mostly, it was having a family dinner and eating all kinds of good things. To be honest, I never really gave it that much thought as to what He really did for me upon that Cross. Maybe it's because I believed I had to do something or be someone really good and either at that time I didn't think I did anything horribly bad, or maybe at some point I was someone not worthy of Him. What do you think He expects of you? What if I tell you nothing!

  • The Pompous, Pious Pontius Pilate
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] During this week of Christ's passion, I can't help but try to fathom all the intregal parts that everyone played in this most dramatic of all human events. In reviewing all the things that had to take place in order for this prophecy to be fulfilled, we have to stop and consider some of the key players and their personalities. One of these star performers in carrying out what God had foreordained, is Pontius Pilate. Even though as we read the scriptures, he doesn't appear to be such a bad guy, but two words came to my mind in describing him. Those two words are pompous, and pious. Does this tell you anything about him? He had an attitude to say the least.

  • What Is Truth?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I love this time of year. It brings a promise of new beginnings after laying dormant for the past few months. What was still under snow last week is now emerging into beautiful spring flowers. What a difference one week makes. It is proof that there is a divine Creator to the seasons and how timely they are. This time of year which brings promises was not an accident. God does not make mistakes. In a couple of weeks, churches around the world will be celebrating the risen Lord. His resurrection brought a new covenant, a new promise of ever lasting life for all those who believe in Him. It's God's truth that His Son is the one true and living way to enter into His kingdom. Aside from accepting Christ, God says no one will ever see the kingdom of God. This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the gospel truth. Do you believe it?

  • There's Nothing Like the Real Thing
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We are all familiar with the concept of a model. A model represents an object that is real, but on a smaller scale. It is built with the proper proportions just downsized for easier accommodations. There are also "prototypes". These are models of things that are to be copied when assembling the real thing. A prototype is a pattern made to ensure something will work before finalization. And there is also an "antitype". This is a foreshadowing of something to come, it's not the real thing. Models, prototypes and anitypes are all just examples of the real thing or lead up to it. There's nothing like the real thing and God was showing the people His master plan when He gave them the tabernacle in the wilderness.

  • Where There's a Well, There's a Way
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] As I journey through this life in Christ, I am reminded every day it's not for the faint of heart. That is why God gives His children a new heart when we become born again. He gives us a spirit of faith that fear cannot defeat. This subject is one that everyone can identify with. Life is a series of good times and bad. It's the bad times that send us hurling into depths of depression... IF we don't know how to defeat it. It's sad that so many will allow their life to go down into the deep wells of sadness and can't see the out and escape the clutches of evil. But, it's the person of great faith in Jesus that refuses to go down into the well and will find that way out. Christ promises that when there is a well waiting to devour us, He will provide that way to freedom. We just have to apply our strength through Him to get out of it.

  • Can You Smell That Smell?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Over the last couple months, the ladie's prayer and Bible study group that I'm involved in, have been learning about the Tabernacle in the wilderness. It never ceases to amaze me how accurate God's Word is. The more I learn about His plans that have come to pass, the more I know Him and love Him. Anyone who says that the Old Testament is not important for today does not understand God and what He is telling us. There would be no New Testament without the foundation of His plan for salvation in the Old. Never has there been anything written that foretold everything to the minutest detail and had it made manifest like the Word of God. This Tabernacle is nothing less than spectacular. In it, God hears our prayers that through the person of Jesus Christ, presents them as a sweet aroma through His sacrifice to our heavenly Father. What is God smelling in your praise and worship?

  • Focus on the Prize - Not the Lies
[Self-Improvement:Self-Esteem] Can I be honest? Even though I am a true Christian believer, sometimes I get sidetracked. When I let my soulish man take sides with the carnal man, my mind, my will and emotions go crazy. What I see with my eyes is enough to put me in a panic mode. But, once I return to the spirit man, and get in sync with what the Holy Spirit wants me to see through faith, then I can return to an inward peace that surpasses all human understanding. Life can hand out some pretty cruel judgments that just don't seem fair. Satan uses these schemes to deter us from focusing on what is necessary...the goal of Christlikeness. This is where we can remain calm, cool and collected when we come under attack from the world and those who are in it. It's the lies that can destroy us, but the goal of the prize is what keeps a true believer in the race! Are you in the running?

  • Make No Bones About It
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] As foretold in God's Word, there would be many lies about the truth of Christ and the impact that He made in the Christian world. The truth of the gospel is always under attack from people who want to mock God. It should not surprise any of us who stand firm on this truth, because God already warned us beforehand. The media is trying again to disprove that Christ was Who He said He was and still Is! The discovery of bones that they are claiming belong to Christ, His family and now a son is preposterous to say the least. Make no bones about it, God's Word is truth and there are no bones of His Son anywhere to be found now or ever because He is risen!

  • Cause for Celestial Celebration
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This weekend a supernatural, divine act of God took place and I realize this is not to be taken lightly. How many times do we take things for granted, or better yet...overlook them altogether? I feel led to share this extraordinary experience because it most definitely will change someone's life forever. How can I take such a miracle for granted? This weekend there was a celebration in the celestial sphere because a lost sheep was found. I know it wasn't something I did, I was just a voice in leading a soul to Christ, I was the vehicle to help drive it home. God did it all.

  • From Bud to Blossom
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] When you think about the transition of the rose bud to the full blossom, it's a silent transformation that happens right before our very eyes and yet we still don't see it happening. Life is like that. Subtle changes occur and we can't stop them. Everything in life has a cycle, there are seasons for it all and we have no control. This is the way God created the world. Only He knows the mysteries behind life and death and everything in between. We can either accept this fact and enjoy it, or we can fight it and be miserable. Solomon was one man who realized that life happens just like a bud to the blossom, and there was nothing he could do to change it. Some things are just out of our control.

  • What Love Is-And What It Isn't
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Valentine's Day is upon us once again. It use to be that I loved the romantic message that it brought. It always seemed like it was a "get out of jail" card for lovers who might be having some problems, at least for that one day. It was a day that we could smooth it all over with a card and some candy, or flowers and perhaps something more extravagant. It is a day we say, "I love you" and hope to get the same reply. I have learned from the past that even if someone does say "I love you", doesn't necessarily make it so. How do we honestly know if love is real? What do we really know about love when we seem to make so many mistakes? I have learned that there is only one true love and if you have that, you will have all the love you will ever need. It doesn't come in a card once a year, or a box of chocolates, not even in a piece of jewelry. Love is in one's heart. It's something you can't give away unless you have it-for real. What is true love?

  • Like a Candle in the Wind
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Shocking news of Anna Nicole Smith's death was reported on the morning news today. I can't help but wonder how most people are viewing this senseless death. I can rather expect a lot of people would make judgments on her and have their own personal opinions of her lifestyle, but is it worth dying for? Her life like some of her predecessors, Marilyn Monroe and Jane Mansfield all had lives that were lived fast, furious and then snuffed out too quickly like a candle in the wind. In fact Elton John wrote a song by that name referring to Ms. Monroe's life. They are all tragic in their own ways. What was it that was missing for them? What were they looking for and couldn't find? It was something that all the money in the world could not buy them. Pursuit of pleasure and possessions is futile.

  • Get Blessed-Not Stressed
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I feel the subject of going through 'wilderness journeys' is something we all must face in life. Not that they are easy times for anyone, however, there is a way to come through them successfully. God's Word tells us over and over in many different instances where people were faced with difficult times, just like all of us. It's whether or not they trusted on God to deliver them that determined whether they came through stronger than before. God once laid it on my heart that "Trust is Prosperity" and I see this message time and time again as I grow stronger in Christ. Our desert times depend on our trusting in Him in order to prosper in so many ways; spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially and the list goes on. Are you pressed up against the wall and feeling stressed out? Learn how you can get blessed instead of stressed. It will change the whole outcome.

  • Times of Trouble are Times to Trust
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] It's funny how the older I get, how some of the little sayings seem to take on a heavier meaning. There is nothing whimsical about them, they are honest and true. I always used to hear this one, "Into each life a little rain must fall." Being young and naive, I never really knew what the "rain" meant. I took it to mean that bad luck comes to everyone at some point or another. I always felt that we bring about our own luck, good or bad or otherwise. I figured if I was a good enough person I wouldn't run into too much rain, life would run relatively smooth. But, as I'm maturing in my years and my Christian walk I'm discovering that rain falls on the just and the unjust as well. It's how we handle the rain that counts. No matter how bad situations may seem at the time, it's believing that God will deliver as promised. It's that promise that I remain focused on in order to come out from the rain and enjoy the rainbow at the end of the journey. I've accepted that I'm going to get wet, perhaps even soaked, but I know that there is more to it than just what I'm seeing in front of my face. I believe God when He tells me not to be afraid. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It takes hearing His promises that allows us to see in the spiritual what our eyes can't see in the natural. I am determined to trust in times of trouble. After all, what better time is there?

  • From a Dream to a Legacy
[Self-Improvement:Leadership] This month is to commemorate the black historical leaders that made a difference. They all had dreams that left a legacy. Each one of these historians operated under the grace of God because without Him, they would not have been able to make a difference in the world today. Solomon was a man, who tried to find the purpose of life without God and discovered that without Him, it's all futile. I believe that Martin Luther King Jr. was one such man. He recognized that without the Almighty God, his dream to improve life for the blacks would never have been a reality. For this reason, his dream became his legacy.

  • Where Is The God Of Justice?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The disobedient people of Israel forgot all that God had done for them and returned to their wicked ways. God remained silent to them for 400 years. He sent His prophets to warn them of His wrath and what He promised to do in the end times. But, since they didn't see those promises fulfilled, they grew weary and unbelieving. Even though this happened thousands of years ago, I just can't help but see history repeating itself in this day and age. The Israelites asked the prophet Malachi, "Where is the God of Justice?" It seems as if He isn't paying any attention at all when people are getting away with murder of every kind these days. Sin is accepted in a decaying society. Not much has changed between then and now. But God is still on the throne just waiting for people to repent of their wicked ways before He brings down the gavel. Will you be ready to face the Judge on the day of judgment?

  • How to Find Rest in Difficult Times
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I think one thing is perfectly clear in this life and that is it's not always fair. Sometimes, even the best people get dumped on. I have come to recognize this as "life". Things happen to all of us and we are left wondering "Why me?" But, I also have to respond in what God says about this. If we could only hear Him speak, He might just say, "Why not you?" God is no respector of persons. I've said it many times before, but it is worth repeating. God doesn't look at our outside bodies, He doesn't look at our good deeds. Rather He is looking at the very core of who we are, and that is our hearts. If we claim to be a Christian because we sit in church on Sundays, that could be compared to us sitting in a garage. That would not make us a car! But a true Christian does not look at these circumstances as all bad. There's more to it. So what does a true Christian do when life seems unfair? They dig their heels deeper into the Word of God and lean on His promises that He will give them rest. Rest is possible in difficult times-if you're willing to trust in the Lord.

  • Is Your Worship-A Show or A Service
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There was once a time in my life when I "just" went to church. And I went when I felt like going. It was something I thought I should do, something I could say that I did and somehow it would make me a worthwhile person in the community. Now I know how completely off track I was in my standards. I also assumed that by going I was a "Christian" automatically. I presumed since I wasn't Jewish or any other religion outside of believing in Jesus, that it made me a Christian! It almost scares me now to think how much I took for granted! There is no excuse for ignorance. I think I may have even chosen churches for the size of their choir and the music that was pumped out of their organ. If these weren't present, then there was nothing worth going to that church for. Also, if churches put on big pageants at Christmas and Easter, all the better! I suppose I went for some kind of entertainment...for the show. I realize now just what a big mistake I was making. What kind of worship are you engaging in? Is it for a show or is it for the service? There is a difference...a very big difference!

  • What Happens If The Fire Goes Out?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This article like all the others, is by direction of the Holy Spirit. Whatever I write is always inspired by the Lord in regards to the things that are going on in the world today. Through divine revelation, the Lord speaks to me by showing me the true and deeper meaning of what this life as we know it really means. I use His direction in the hopes that it will reveal a life giving truth to someone. God speaks to all of us in different ways. As for me, He shows me that in everything He is present, and there are lessons that we can all take to heart if we just open up our eyes, and our hearts to the plain and simple fact that in Him there is no darkness. God often gives me metaphors to use as examples for what He wants everyone to know. These examples are things that we can all relate to. He is using a simple campfire this time. I pray this article will warm you in His truth.

  • Just So You Know
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] I just can't help but wonder how much more this world can take and still survive. Unless we as Americans wake up and realize the many deceptions that are going on around us, our freedom and liberty will be stripped from us and we will be left wondering how that happened. The multi media is feeding us propaganda and we are filling up with the lies and will someday pay the penalty for not knowing the whole truth. The whole truth is what we are not hearing. This country is founded on liberty and freedom, the very thing Christ came to deliver because Satan comes as a thief to kill, steal and destroy. His ploy of deception is to tell us part truth with the lies, which is all a lie. How long will we believe him? This article is just to let you know what is going on right beneath your nose. Can't you smell it?

  • Do Things Really Work Out For The Better?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Is it just wishful thinking to say that everything will be alright in the end? I suppose that depends on whether a person is a true, faith believing, born again Christian through the blood of Christ or not. People who are living in the world have adopted many Biblical truths and made them their own, but one thing is lacking for them. That would be their faith in Christ. Only God's promises hold up when you have become adopted into His family by receiving Christ as your personal Savior. All else falls short of the glory of God. Only Christ is the key that unlocks the secrets to living a happy life, no matter what the situation may be. God's Word promises that "ALL things work together for the good..." But this isn't the end of the promise. There are requirements. Do you meet them?

  • What Hope Do We Have To Quit Bad Habits Unless We Start Good Ones
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] With a few days under our belts into another new year, I have been pondering over the whole thing of making resolutions. I suppose with a whole new and fresh year ahead of us, we imagine that the slate can be wiped clean, as if the old habits of yesteryear can be magically wiped away. Then with the snap of a finger, we can put ourselves into a new mental outlook in which to clean ourselves up. Whatever we failed to do last year, we now have another new year to do it right. But when I think about the absurdity to this kind of thinking, it's no wonder we will never stick to our good intentions. The truth is, we can't do it by ourselves, we need help... alot of help. I got to thinking about this according to what God's Word says. Unless we first are humbled to admit that we need help from our heavenly Father, what hope do we as humans have to ever think we can accomplish anything on our own? In other words, no matter how badly we want to quit a bad habit, we will not succeed unless we begin a good one. That would be going to the Father for help and asking Him to lead the way to victory. Without Him, we can do nothing, but in Christ, we can do all things!

  • Get Ready - Here Comes the Judge
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We live in a crazy, mixed up world where everyone has an opinion and speaks straight from the hip. We often times choose to judge and criticize each other as if we know everything and they know nothing. We are quick to form opinions of one another. Our thoughts can be critical and also very damaging. We feel as though we have the right to say things against the people we say we care about.

  • A Spiritual Conflict From Cross to Cradle
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Christmas is a time to focus on the baby in the manger, it's a sweet scene of innocence and God's grace. But if we really think about the beginning of the birth, we must recognize the great conflict in the heavenly realms long before the Christmas story. Christ's death on the Cross was God's plan before the creation of man, and so His death was marked out before His birth and the cradle. The cradle had to happen first in order that the Cross would become a reality. This remarkable plan of redemption was cause for a major conflict between Satan and the Lord Himself. In the natural, we never really stop to consider what a mighty battle that took place and an even bigger one to come all because of the Cross and the Cradle.

  • The Proof of Salvation is in the Praise
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] At this time of year, I'm reminded of all the fake joy, and love, and peace that people try so hard to hide behind. Being that Christmas is a time for all these things, so many people don't even have a clue as to what it really means to have them. If they did, their inward person would reveal these characteristics not just at one time during the year, but at all times. God didn't give us Christmas to just "feel" love. He gave us His love at Christmas in the person of Christ so that we could "know" what it means to have peace, and joy and love all the year through. Christmas is just the start of our forgiveness of sins. A true repentant person is proof in the exuberant way that he or she praises and prays to the Father Who gave them life everlasting through the Savior we call Jesus. How do you praise the Lord?

  • What Christmas Means To God
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Another year is drawing to a close and we are all wrapped up in getting ready for this holiday. We are bombarded with commercials telling us that their product would make the perfect gift for ourselves or loved ones. We throw all financial caution to the wind and wild the ol' plastic card out and say, "Charge it". We'll deal with the consequences later but for now, we can justify the overspending just to show someone we care. We can't forget to check the tv listings for the 25 days of Christmas specials. Heaven forbid if we miss Frosty or the Grinch, after all, Santa is comin' to town! These things seem to get us in the "festive mood". But it's not the festivities that God cares about. Have you taken the time to consider what Christmas really means to God?

  • Thanksgiving - It's Not Just Receiving Blessings, But Giving Them As Well
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Once again the time is quickly approaching where we are planning our Thanksgiving feasts. Our guest list is made out and we are so careful in planning everything down to the last minute detail, the perfect bird, the perfect dressing, the candied yams or sweet potatoes, the cranberry sauce, and don't forget all the desserts! But, Thanksgiving is not just about the careful planning and who is invited to partake of this feast. It's about blessings, not just the ones we have received, but mostly about the ones we can give to those less fortunate.

  • Don't Miss Understanding
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] In my last article, I wrote about discerning God's Word when we sometimes quote things and do not really understand if they are true or not. One of these more infamous quotes is, "God helps those who help themselves." If we are spiritual beings, we must be so careful as not to take things out of context. And if we are living in the natural, human state, we will often times use quotes like this and not fully understand if they are really true or not. It was brought to my attention that God does sometimes help those who help themselves. I want to look at this deeper. Yes, there are those times when He does. Let's see some examples of this...good and bad. Don't miss the understanding of God's Truth.

  • "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves"...Are You Sure?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If you are a Christian, or even if you're not I'm sure you've heard yourself saying, "God helps those who help themselves" at one time or another. But how much truth is in this? It's not just about believing in God, it's when you have an actual relationship with Him that you will come to find out that this is nothing but a pure lie from hell itself and can damage your walk with Christ in this lifetime. Do you want to risk that?

  • With Disobedience Comes Hard Lessons
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Life is all about learning lessons, some have harsher consequences than others. The whole point of learning lessons is for our own good. When we submit to obedience we will keep ourselves out of harm's way. The basics of any lesson was given to us from the Lord through the 10 Commandments. These, we keep in our hearts and when we disobey them, we know we are not pleasing God, but ourselves. With this will always come the hand of correction, whether it's from God directly or through the legal system that was set up to keep us from going too far astray. These lessons are often hard. Dont make life any harder on yourself by being deliberately disbobedient. Follow your Master's voice.

  • What Came First - the Chicken or the Egg? God Only Knows!
[News-and-Society:Religion] Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This has been one of those questions that people will rationalize and argue over and never can prove a thing. In the end, does it really matter which came first? The fact is we have eggs and we have chickens. What I can say is this, which ever came first was made by God the Creator to be first. Instead of getting lost on some detour, we should keep focused on the facts and they are this, nothing was made that wasn't already made by God Himself, He is afterall, The Maker of heaven and earth and everything that is in it. (Ps.24:1)

  • A Conscience Is A Terrible Thing To Waste
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Have you ever wondered how you could prove to someone there was indeed a real God? I know an atheist who says he will give you $1,000 to prove there is a God. But that day will never arrive for him, he is spiritualy dead to the truth. Even if you did prove it, he still would deny it. But, the proof is easy, as God's Word is straight and to the point. The answer is in a person's conscience. Sadly though, sin has destroyed the consciences of many. But if you're lucky enough to have one, then you may be assured that God does exist!

  • What Will You Miss When You Don't Look Up?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Sometimes the best things are seen if only we look up. For instance, the stars, the clouds, rainbows, sunsets, and sunrises. These things are seen through our physical eyes, but if we don't look up in the spiritual, we will miss the best thing of all...God Himself!

  • Have Busy Hands, Not a Busy Body
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Any more, it seems to me that watching the news is like the need to know everything that's going on so we can talk about it to others. The worse the news is, the more we will talk about it and offer our own opinion on the matter. This in itself can create alot of negative outcome when others don't see things the same way. In fact, it's a rule of thumb that we shouldn't talk about politics and religion because no two people see eye to eye and this creates arguements. The main reason for the wars that are breaking out today are due to politics and religion, so neither one is a peaceful subject. It's also a shame that what seems to be a private matter, is made public for everyone's comments. What's the point? Does it solve anything and do we really care if someone is being exploited or not? This is how gossip gets started. Someone hears something and it gets repeated and the next thing you know the whole thing is twisted way out of context. People get hurt because it will get back to them. Then the person who started it all ends up looking rather foolish. They will try to convince others that it wasn't what they meant, or it wasn't what they said. Fact of the matter is, something was said that just shouldn't have been repeated in the first place. Why do we continually set ourselves up for the fall? It's something about the lust of the flesh that calls to our inner animal urges to act upon the wrong things. How can we abstain from doing this? Is there an answer? Yes, and it's in God's Word.

  • Get On Board The Glory Train Before It Derails
[Self-Improvement:Success] The kind of train I'm talking about is not the object of a train, but the practice of raising a child with the proper guidelines in order to become a successful adult in society one day. This is not an easy job for any parent, and it's getting more difficult every day with the advanced technology that keeps invading our privacy. Parents will say this job doesn't come with instructions, but yes it does. It's called the Bible. Unless we as parents know and practice the Word of God in our own lives, how then can we expect our own children to ever make it in the world? Our battle cry should not be "Do as I say, not as I do" but rather, "Do as I say and as I do!" The best teacher to train us up in the way we should go is what we see as an example in our own life. As parents, what are we showing our own children when it comes to living a moral life in a decaying society where God is no longer a main part of our lives? We have taken His name out of schools by eliminating the Pledge of Allegience. And any mention of God on a positive note is just not acceptable in public places. The only time most children ever hear His name mentioned is when it's used in vain. God has become a derogatory noun. Is this how we want God to be portrayed to this younger generation? Our forefathers fought and died over the freedom to bless God in this country and now we have all but taken Him out of the equation of it. Right now, the United States is still privileged to honor God in their own homes and churches, but even that is slowly being taken away. If you stop and consider what would happen if we were no longer allowed to serve Him in the open you just might stop and reconsider the consequences. There are always consequences to every action. Now is the time for parents to take proper action by training up their children in the way they should go, they are our future after all. If we don't get on that glory train, we will be heading for a derailment that we will all have to pay for. Are you ready to take that ride?

  • A Final Warning For the Luke Warm Christian
[News-and-Society:Religion] Since becoming a Christian myself, I have thrown myself into studying God's Word. I take this walk very seriously and the more I am in the world, I realize that even other so-called Christians, just aren't molding themselves into what God has commanded them to do and to be. Without full knowledge and study of just what it means to be a child of God, people think that they can stop at the sinner's prayer and everything will be ok. No one likes to just get by in life by the skin of their teeth. That means, we barely make it. But, did you realize that even though you are saved, you can barely make it into heaven by the skin of your teeth also? God promised us eternal life, but what we do with it in this life requires our every effort. Believe me, I do not want to stand before the Lord Jesus and hear Him say that I virtually made Him sick because I treated His gift of salvation so lightly. It is my constant prayer that someday I will hear Him tell me, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." The thought of being rebuked and regurgitated by Christ is not something I dare to find out. What about you? Will Jesus call you lukewarm and spit you out?

  • Could History Be Repeating Itself?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] With all that's going on in the world today, I can't help but think about what God says in His Word concerning the end times and what will take place before He calls His final judgement. In looking around at how people perceive world views and seem to have no room for God in their lives, I can't help but wonder...could history be repeating itself as God predicted it would? With all the fair warnings that the Lord has given us to either shape up or ship out, so many people are choosing to jump ship because of greed, selfishness, envy, lust for sex and money, positions in life, self importance, and in general ungodliness at every corner. We see it in all the mass media. We hear it in the music and our reactions are ones of apathy on the whole concept. Anyone who has not come to the Lord just doesn't care how all these things are greatly effecting future generations. As long as it makes you happy and it feels good, it must be ok. But, on the contrary, we are being fed nothing but lies by the enemy and the world is being taken for the ride of it's life. You can just read it in all the newspapers that history in deed is repeating itself. It's not anything new, it's just new to us.

  • When It Comes To Health And Happiness, What Are You Waiting For?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] I think it's safe to say that if we want to achieve anything in life, we must put our mind to doing it. It takes determination to get the things we wish to obtain. This is where the boys are seperated from the men. Jealousy seems to run rampant today when we see others with the things we only wish we could have. But, the question is, are we willing to do what they did to get what they have? It takes diligence, perserverance and determination to get ahead in this life. Fact is, it's not just handed to us on a silver platter. The people who are successful never took no for an answer. They decided they would not allow negative comments to interfere with what they had their mind set on. In order to get ahead in anything in life, we have to set our minds on the things that are obtainable and quit compromising what God has already given us. All we have to do is "Do it!" So, what are you waiting for?

  • Don't Get Caught Without A Life Jacket
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] It's summer time and everyone loves to go swimming. Many times a sign will be posted such as "Swim at your own risk", or "Beware of undercurrents". Signs like these warrant caution. Some people may decide there is too much risk involved and will use good sense. Then there are others who take this as a dare and throw all caution to the wind. Perhaps some people believe that nothing can or will happen to them. The thought of danger is inconceivable. Perhaps they feel they are better prepared and can handle any situation should one arise. But sadly, things can and do turn into disasters and unless we are ready to handle them, it could mean our life is at stake. Are you ready to take that chance and trust in yourself or is there One Who is greater to keep you afloat?

  • When It Comes To God's Blessings, We Should Know The Terms and Conditions
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Today, even among Christians who go to church on Sundays, they are sometimes in the dark about what God expects from all of us where our blessings are concerned. For many, they believe that their good deeds and being seen by others will guarantee them their personal blessings. When prayers don't get answered as expected, we have to start asking ourselves, "Why not?" It's not that God doesn't hear or isn't listening, many times it has to do with us. Are we hearing God? Do we know the terms and conditions of recieving our blessings? When we focus on ourselves and not the needs of fellow Christians, that makes our motives self centered. It is God's desire for all His children to know and understand what is expected of them before He will reward them with His blessings. Everything we do in striving to go deeper with God is learning another lesson and realizing that He does have terms and conditions also. It's not about us. When we start to understand that fact, we then begin to realize that our blessings will begin to flow upon our lives. Do you know God's terms and conditions for recieving your blessings?

  • Follow the Leader
[Self-Improvement:Leadership] Father's Day is soon approaching and it's a day to recognize the leadership that our own father's had in shaping us into what we are today. For many families, a father hasn't been a major role in their lives and without this strong example to follow, many children don't know and may never know just what it means to have a father and what it will mean to become one. God made fathers to be like Him, an upstanding man who instills good morals in his children so that they too may leave a legacy for future generations. A father should be a leader and someone we are proud to follow.

  • There Is Power in Knowledge
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Being a teacher in the Word of God, I have found that most people who need to hear the teachings the most are the ones who never come to learn, and are the ones who still want to know the answers. It's a shame that they don't regard God's Word as something that will give them power in their Christian walk. When it comes to learning God's ways for success, so many people tend to treat it as something that is not for them. What are we so afraid of hearing? Are we bored with what God has to say? I pray this is not so.

  • What Exactly Does It Mean "To Trust?"
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] In the English language we have but one word, and it's trust. But how do we put our finger on it? We seem to totter back and forth on the power behind it. Sometimes we'll say something like, "I'll trust you until you give me a reason not to." Is this really putting your full trust in someone or is there a degree of doubt? When you tell someone you trust them with your life, do you really? Trust in God's Word is something we must stand on, rely upon and know that we know that we know for certain. If we doubt our trust in God, then what are we saying to Him? How do we learn this kind of trust?

  • True Happiness-Is It Really Mind Over Matter?
[Self-Improvement:Happiness] In my own walk with Christ, I experience deep pain, I am no exception. Staying happy is a difficult ahievement but one that I am set on obtaining. I am truly fixed on Christ in my head and in my heart. I know Who He is in my life, but when the person you love the most, is going through hardships and can't seem to find their own inner peace, it does without a doubt play havoc with your own inner well being. If your heart and mind aren't connected on Christ, happiness will be impossible to obtain. It's essential to get the two in harmony. It's impossible to have happiness if your head and heart aren't in agreement on Christ. How well is your head and heart connected? True happiness really is mind over matter.

  • Godly Mothers - A Precious and Rare Gift
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] This month we recognize all moms for one day. It's one of the biggest retail sale days for flowers, cards and various other gifts. But in reality, there is nothing money can buy that can put the true value on just what a mother really means. Being a mom is one of God's greatest gifts. Have you truly taken the time to reflect on what your mother means to you?

  • Have You Ever Been Mad at God?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] It's normal to hear people say they are mad at God when they don't particularly even know Him, but to hear those who should know Him, admit this, it's disheartening. This attitude shows disrespect and a lack of wisdom in their own walk with God, Who by the way is Love for those who know Him the way He wants to be known. Where does the miscommunication lie?

  • What's the Difference Between Conquering and Being Victorious?
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Today we seem to do alot of conquering in our lives. We have battles against fears, phobias, habits and the list goes on. We all seem to have our own private battle going on and it's our goal to conquer it. But, even though we may have seemed to have won that battle, can we say we are truly victorious in this fight? Who are we giving the credit to for defeating it? If we say ourselves, then we have not truly conquered anything. Only God gives the real victory.

  • Can I Have Your Undivided Attention... Please!
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Why is it when we have something important to say that we can never get people to listen? Having raised 2 children, I know I use to tell them things repeatedly because they weren't listening. People still do that today. If we say something of substance, it goes right in one ear and out the other. But, if we tell a secret or say something in passing, how much more is that heard and even repeated, sometimes when it shouldn't be? Why is it so hard for us to not only hear the things we should, but actually listen to what is being said? Have we missed out on many things in our lives by being too wrapped up in other priorities? The only way we are going to learn is if we just get quiet and listen!

  • If You Wish to Unsubscribe Click Here
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Recently I clicked "here" to opt out of too many emails that were invading my privacy. Most of them were 'get rich' schemes. It's a sad thing when this is all people are concerned with. First of all, this won't happen - not in this life time anyway. Choose wisely what you decide to opt out of.

  • A Stranger Among Us
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Once upon a time, before I met Jesus, He would walk with me and I never recognized Him. There have been several times in my unsaved life, that if He hadn't been with me, I most likely would not be here today. Back then, I recognized Him as "good luck" or being fortunate. I would say, "Someone up there must like me." Little did I know that Some One up there loved me!

  • The Final Stroke Of God's Masterpiece
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] With the coming of "Good Friday", our church is holding a service. Our pastor asked for seven volunteers each to choose one of the seven last things that Christ ever spoke and then give an insight into the true meaning of it. I chose the seventh and last statement. It sure packs a punch!

  • Does Compromise and Priority Fit Together in God's Word?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] As Christian believers, do we tell others that holiness is a priority in their life? We know that God is holy, but can He expect us to be holy as well? Do we even consider this to a part of our Christian walk? Can we compromise His Word for our lives and leave the holiness up to Him? Actually, God says that holiness for us is a priority.

  • Is It Called Easter or Resurrection Sunday?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The difference between Easter and Resurrection Sunday is a lot. Easter is the name given for the Sunday that the Easter Bunny comes and brings eggs and candy. It depicts a pagan theme. Resurrection Sunday is all about Christ and what that means to Christians and what it should mean to those who aren't. Where do you stand on this?

  • The Secret To Success Is For Everyone To Know!
[Self-Improvement:Success] In this day and age, everyone wants to be somebody as far as our appearance and importance goes. We all desire to be a success before this life is over. But, is success really a secret? Is success something that only comes to those who find the combination? I suppose those who are tuned into the Word of God will eventually end up leading successful lives, but not necessarily by worth of wealth. Money is not what describes success, that's the world's description. What is your description of success? Is it pleasing God...or yourself?

  • The God Connection, Are You Tuned In?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] In the last several weeks I've been teaching at our ministry on our connection with God. While not many are obedient enough to actually come out and hear "what doth sayeth the Lord", I know my self that I'm growing at leaps and bounds with the messages He's been giving me. It's my prayer that all of us who know Christ will develop into a rich and deep connection with our Heavenly Father. How well is your connection with the Almighty Father today?

  • Life's Certainties-Death and Taxes
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] We've all heard that death and taxes are certain for everyone. No matter who we are, we are all exempt from them. I'm not arguing that fact. What I am bringing to your attention is the death of innocent babies who will never have the privilege of paying taxes or making a life for themselves for that matter. I'm talking about our tax dollars being spent to bring death to innocent, unborn babies. I don't think this is what is meant by death being certain because our tax dollars support this heinous act. Are you willing to go along with something that You know is an abhorant act to God?

  • On the Road From Pride to Humility and the Journey in Between
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] What sets a person apart from the world and the kingdom of God? It's pride and humility. Everyone begins their life long journey with pride and self importance. If they are ever to get in the will of God along the way, their wonderings will end up with humility. This is the difference between a mature Christian and a person who is in the world. Pride will eventually destroy a person.

  • A Deadly But Curable Disease on the Rise
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Sin like cancer is a deadly disease, a killer unless it's treated. Both sin and cancer can be cured with proper treatment. Both are diseases that if not confronted will spread and eventually win the battle of death. Why let either one of these things win that battle in your life or someone you know?

  • Oh Woe to Those of the World!
[Self-Improvement:Success] What is it that sets a Christian apart from someone who is of the world? It's the guidance of the Holy Spirit that keeps us on track and out of trouble. The world offers us all kinds of opportunities IF we act on them now! Beware of these one time great deals because they aren't all they are cracked up to be. Beware of the hype you are being fed, it can cause alot of damage in the Christian's walk.

  • Does God Really Want to Know Someone Like Me?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] At some point in time, everyone of us has pondered whether or not God really does exist and if He does, does He really want to know me? Just who is worthy of being known by Him? When we know without a doubt that God loves us and wants to bless us, it's easier to get past our doubts that make us question ourselves in the first place. So, does God really want to know you? Let's find out how much He does.

  • Can God Really Hear Me When I Pray?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] In our human frailness, we turn to the One Who can fix anything, Our heavenly Father. So many times we get ourselves into a jam and expect Him to get us out by promising Him our apologies and never doing it again. But, many times, it almost seems like God doesn't even exist. So, does He really hear us or is He ignoring us? What guidelines should we follow when we pray and should we exect an answer? The good news is that yes, we should expect an answer if, our prayers are being prayed correctly. Has God answered your prayers lately? Maybe there's a logical reason that He hasn't. His Word gives us several reasons why He doesn't hear. Have you done all these things?

  • What If What You Believed Weren't True?
[News-and-Society:Religion] It never ceases to amaze me that people who have no idea of who Christ is or what He has done for each and every one of us, still argue that the Bible is out of date and it doesn't concern them. They argue the fact that this Book is so old and doesn't hold up to today's issues. On the contrary, it's all about today's issues. These people will argue that these stories could not have possibly happened and therefore what does it have to do with them? If these spiritualy blinded people only knew, God already spoke of them in His Word and foretold of these non believers. God is so ahead of everyone and people still remain stubborn in their beliefs that God is not the God of today. Sometimes this arguement frustrates the believer and they don't know what to say in response. But, if you just give them the plain and simple truth of God's Word, you have done your job. The rest will speak for itself.

  • How Do You Know If You Are Truly Saved?
[News-and-Society:Religion] Today there are many revivals that claim to be on fire for the Lord and this gets everyone's emotional feelings to surface. People are asked to come forward and confess Jesus and they will be saved. But after the sensationalism, then what? Does conversion end here or is there more to it?

  • We Call Them Best Men, God Calls Them Friends
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] When you live in the spirit of God's love, you realize that there is a reason for everything. God put His deeper meaning into us through His Word and when we can learn to pull it out and put it into action, this world as we know it, starts to look a whole lot different. Take the honorary position of the Best Man at a wedding. You may have never looked at it quite this way before, but God has always known the deeper meaning behind this best friend of the groom's. Have you ever been the Best Man, can you handle the responsibility of it?

  • Against All Odds, A Black Pastor in a White Man's Town
[News-and-Society:Religion] This month is set aside to honor the great black people in America who have changed things for the better. God does not see "color" and neither should we. Whether a person is black, white, yellow or red, if they are a child of God, they have already done something wonderful and will leave a legacy of love. My pastor will be among them.

  • Recipe for Peace
[News-and-Society:Religion] It seems today that we need all the help we can get when it comes to peace of mind. There are prescription drugs on the market designed to do just that, but with often times side effects that are worse than what we may already be experiencing. This foolproof recipe has side effects that will only inhance and increase your peace and it doesn't cost a dime! What is it?

  • A Superbowl Victory
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] My husband is a Steeler's fan and since they had a good season this year, I started watching the games with him. I have a hard time following the game, there are so many rules. It's actually a very precise game of skill and speed. It takes group effort to pull it off. It takes alot of obedience and knowing the game plan inside and out. These men have to put hours into their practices and plays and be on top of their game. They have cerrtainly gained my respect. But this team effort reminds me of our role as Christians. How well do we know God's "play book"?

  • A Great Injustice In The Land
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I am thinking mainly about certain lending institutions today that will give you an instant loan but at a very steep price. Their payback fee is nearly 40% of what you borrowed. It becomes a trap for the person who lives paycheck to paycheck and has to meet certain bills by certain deadlines. If anyone could afford it, these lending companies wouldn't be needed, but they know that they are and they prey on the little man and expect him to pay them back for an absurd amount. It's a vicious cycle and since so many of us are not independantly wealthy, we are the ones that get singled out and punished. According to God's Word, this is a great injustice to take advantage of others this way. Do the people who work there really care? If they knew God's Word, they would.

  • Truth or Consequences
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] I'm probably giving my age away, but when I was a young girl there was a game show called Truth or Consequences. As I think about this, there are always consequences to pay when the truth is ignored. God is very clear about this all through His Word. Why then do we prefer to pay the consequences for our actions rather than obey His Truth?

  • Who is Worthy?
[News-and-Society:Religion] As Christians we refer to being "worthy" or "unworthy". But, on our own, no is capable of being worthy to be in God's presence. Rather it's about coming to Him "worthily" in our attitude of what He has done for us. Now ask yourself, are you worthy?

  • Positioned for a Promotion
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Everyone understands the benefits of a promotion. We learn this language from an early age. Everyon loves to be rewarded for a job well done. God promotes us too when we go above and beyond in our faith walk with Him.

  • An Open Invitation
[News-and-Society:Religion] There are all kinds of invitations. Some are private, maybe only a certain circle of people get invited to them, everyone else is excluded. These kinds of invitations leave everyone else feeling inferior. Other invitations may include a different circle of people, friends and aquaintences alike. But, still they are exclusive. Then there is one invitation that is given to everyone who receives it. It's an invitation that includes every person that wants to attend. And once you receive it, you're more than welcome to invite others to come also. What is this invitation? Only the best one ever!

  • If You Love Me God, Then Why?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This is a question that seems to be asked more often than not. So many people will automatically assume that God has done this terrible thing in their life and they are left not only doubting His existance, but they are also asking why would He do this? A loving God could never be so mean, so therefore there must not be a God. How does this way of thinking line up with Scripture? It just doesn't make any sense!

  • Sunshine Friends
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Sunshine friends are those friends who are right at our side as long as everything is going fine. These kinds of friends have nothing to offer when the time gets rough. As long as the sun shines they are visible, but when it sets, they too are gone. When the sun sets for you, they say, "Well, it's been nice knowing you, but I'm outa here." Have you ever known anyone like that? These people lack a backbone.

  • Help Wanted
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Are you searching for that perfect job? Have you ever thought of trying out for a job that God can use you for? If you think that God can't use you because you aren't perfect, think again. Even some of the people in Christ's lineage were not perfect. If God waited for perfect people, Christ never would have been born! Fact is, nobody is perfect, but when you know you fall short, then that's the beginning of godly Wsdom. You're hired!

  • Past the Point of No Return
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I once had the pleasure of going to Canada to see the stage presentation, "Phantom of the Opera". At the time I just thought it was a gorgeous presentation and the music was captivating. However, this opera within an opera is so much more. After recently watching the DVD, my spiritual eyes saw this in a whole new way. There is no such thing as the point of no return. Through the blood of Christ, we always have that chance to escape from the clutches of our Phantom!

  • The Less I Have, The More I Have
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The less I have, the more I have. In today's world, we have this concept totally opposite. It's what we have in this life that makes us who we are, or that's what we've been led to believe. But in the truth of God's instructions, this is nothing but dangerous lies. Our morals, or lack of them will end up killing us with this mindset. How can less be more?

  • Why Be Diligent?
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] We know it takes diligence in order to succeed in anything. Whatever it is that we put our minds to accomplishing, we must do it with diligence. With diligence however, comes the things we don't like to hear. Such as pain, trouble, hardship, and even suffering. What is worth your diligence?

  • Out of This World
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] A new month, a new year. What a great time to plan our stradegy of attack in getting through the next eleven months. We make promises to ourselves that we will quit bad habits and begin good ones. When we give something our undivided attention, it will then develop into a habit, whether it be good or bad. It's always our best intention to make improvements however. Where do we turn for our good advice?

  • Better Not Bitter
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Only a few days into another year, we are faced with a tradegy that hits home for many of us. I'm talking about the catastrophe that took the lives of 12 men in the deep mines of WV. But as horrible as this is, we must not forget the one who still remains alive and that God is with us through our greatest heartaches. How do we handle these circumstances, how do we prepare for the unknown?

  • Closing My Eyes, Opening My Heart
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Out with the old and in with the new. The New Year always brings the best expectations, a time when we can forget what lies behind and continue into an unknown future which we all hope will be better than the past we are leaving. What do those of us who truly "believe" think about this transition?

  • A Plain Brown Wrapper
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] What do you place the importance of a gift on? Is it the bright shiny bows, the colorful wrapping paper and the fancy decorations that adorn it? Does the outside reflect what it may contain on the inside? What would you feel if you received the best gift of your life but it came in a plain brown wrapper? Would you feel disappointed and assume that it could not be anything special? Don't be so sure!

  • Joseph, A Broken Man Made Whole
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Often times in life, we get our hearts broken, we feel the need to get vindication and put the blame where we feel it is best deserved. Joseph was such a man but being obedient God healed his brokeness. Had Joseph not been a humble, obedient man, the whole course of history could've been changed.

  • Dangerous Distractions
[News-and-Society:Religion] It seems that every year, even before the Thanksgiving turkey has had a chance to cool, in comes Christmas with more hype and more glitz. We see more Santas, more reindeer, more snowmen but less and less of the real reason for the season...Christ!

  • Mary Had A Little Lamb
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Mary had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow, and everywhere that Mary went, that lamb was sure to go. Of course this is just a nursery rhym that we teach our children. They love to repeat them because they are fun. But what do they say to us as adults? Alot can be read into them. Let's find out more about Mary's little lamb.

  • I'll Be Dammed
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Picture if you will a stagnant body of water...nothing coming in or going out. What kinds of dangers does it bring to mind? Decay, death, disease? Now imagine your spiritual life in the same light. Is there life coming in and going out of you or have you been dammed up with doubt and unbelief?

  • Give Thanks
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Thanksgiving, an American tradition which is most recognized for the first dinner between the English colony and the American Indians. They broke bread together in peace. Today we usually sit down at a table with friends or family to all the fixins'. But to Whom are we truly thankful for such and oppertunity? Is it the person who prepared the meal? Is God even in the picture?

  • Whom Shall I Fear?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] With Halloween approaching we start noticing scarey decorations around homes. Often times the uglier and scarier the better. What is it about fear that we are drawn to? What kind of fear does God want us to have for Him?

  • Touched By An Angel
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] It has been said that angels can't be everywhere, so God made friends. I think that's true, but I also believe that the angel can be a stranger who will touch you somehow in a way you can't describe. Whether they are an old acquaintance or a new face, these special messengers have one thing in common...it's LOVE.

  • Pruning and Finetuning
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] What would you do with a plant that appeared to be dead? Most likely throw it away right? Thank God that's not what He does with us when we appear dead in our sins. He sees as something worth saving. What does it mean to be pruned and finetuned?

  • Stars and Stripes Forever
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We as Americans have just celebrated Labor Day. This country is special in a way that no others can boast and that is our freedom to celebrate the stars and stripes which fly high and proud on our flag. But as wonderful as all that is, I want to talk about another kind of freedom...the one God gives us as His heirs.

  • What on Earth is Going On?
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] As of recently this hurricane has shaken this country up. It has left millions dead and homeless and feeling a bit frail in the midst of it all. We may ask, "God, why would You let this happen?" Let's find out what God says about these disasters and how they are meant to confront our human nature.

  • Trust is Prosperity
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The word "Trust" in the English language is rather illusive. When we are told to trust in God, is it easier said than done? How do we go about knowing that we can attain this trust and then believe in it? In other words, do we know that we know that we know...or are we hoping for the best?

  • What Exactly is Grace?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This was a question that was asked one day at a Bible Study from a professed woman of the Word. I thought to myself, isn't this the beginning of our salvation? It's the undeserved, unmerited gift that God gives us when we accept His Son. Is there any more to it?

  • Order and Law
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] In this world, we are all familiar with Law and Order. It's what keeps us out of trouble. When we break the law, we have to pay the price to get order back into our lives. Same goes in the kingdom of God. He has orders to His Laws that He expects us to keep. What will happen if we don't?

  • Book Ends
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Book ends are meant to keep the books from falling down. Book ends keep them in order, book ends keep them balanced, book ends keep them in place. What happens if one of them is removed? They all fall down! Such is our lives when the book ends of the Holy Spirit aren't in place.

  • Slow Leak
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I recently just had 4 new tires put on my mini van but soon afterwards, I noticed the front passenger tire kept losing air. Each time air was added to it, it would soon leak out again. This was a call for action, time to take it back to the garage and let them tell me what I didn't want to hear. I had run over a tiny nail somewhere and now my tire was no longer good as new. But, after a small plug was inserted it is now back to it's original state, holding air and just like new again. I realized this is alot like our Christian walk. Is yours leaking?

  • Food for Thought
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Summer time, a great time to gather with loved ones for picnics to enjoy the fun, fellowship and the food. Food for the body is a priority and at times like this we overdo it and think nothing of it. Have you ever been stuffed to the gills and still starved?

  • As A Man Thinketh...
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] What is about complaining that makes us happy? Finding something to complain about seems to be the main topic of focus for most of us. In fact, the only time we get involved in a conversation if we think there is something juicy worth repeating. Gossip seems to cheer up the longest face. This simingly innocent behavior can have a long lasting malignant effect. Let's look at some of the reasons why our thinking can either make us or break us.

  • What Part of "Thou Shalt Not" Don't You Understand?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Does taking orders make you angry? How about waiting in lines or traffic? Do you get angry over small things and think of getting sweet revenge? Let's see what Jesus had to say about anger and why it can be so damaging... to you and to others.

  • Satan... I'm Not Impressed!
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] "Life is what you make of it." I have heard this all my life and wondered how can this be? Money, influence, even fame and fortune could be a help... or can it? This journey through life is a choice we make. We can choose to see the glass as half empty or half full. It's a life full of choices, whether right or wrong, all are guaranteed to come with a set of consequences. How are you making it through?

  • You Lookin' At Me?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I think it was Robert DeNiro who made those words famous. When people are being stared at, they become defensive and might say, "You lookin' at me?" Let's find out why we are so quick to respond in this manner.

  • Instructions... Guess Work or God's Work?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] I love recipe books...looking through them, collecting them, and occasionally even using them. I suppose just having them is rather like a safety net. It's always mind assuring to know they are there just in case... But unless they are opened up and used, all the secrets inside will forever remain hidden from view. It will benefit no one. Are you hiding your hidden treasures from view?

  • Father Knows Best
[Self-Improvement:Leadership] What determines a family's success? How do they stay together in this day and age? Where does a father's role come in? Who determines what is best? That answer lies with the father, who knows best... or at least he should.

  • Choose Life or Death
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Webster's dictionary describes the word choice as an act of choosing, option, best part of anything. Obviously a choice is an individual decision which should be the "best" decision we could ever make. God says we have the choice of having life or death. What do you choose?

  • Resolutions or Revelations?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There comes a time in our lives when we say, "Ok, enough is enough." We have the best intentions to improve ourselves in some way. Maybe it's losing a few pounds, maybe it's eating healthier, exersizing more, quitting a bad habit such as smoking, eating too much junk food or watching too much tv. Whatever the case may be, it's just a temporary fix anyway. What really matters?

  • A Merry Heart is Like a Medicine
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Our bodies, like the body of Christ (the church) work best when every part is strong and healthy. But when one part develops an illness, our first reaction is to seek a doctor's advice for treatment so that we can ward off any further complications. If we don't take the necessary steps to healing, we become vulnerable for more serious complications to arise. This is also true among the church of believers. As a true Christian we must counterattack a brethren who is falling ill and needs spiritual medicine for healing. How can you recognize a sickness?

  • Life is a Mystery...or is it?
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Is life suppose to be a big secret? Do we really have a purpose for being here or are we here by chance? Do you know what your purpose is? Do you believe you have one?

  • Contemptable Temptation
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Temptation is not a sin, it's human nature. But it is a sin to follow through with the temptation. Not only is it a sin, but it is contemptable in the court of the kingdom of God. Are you ready to pay that price?

  • Spring Cleanup
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] With the end of what seemed to be a never ending winter, we are now ready to start cleaning up around the house. We are anxious to lighten the load and get rid of unwanted junk. Some of it we get tired of or have outgrown. We either do one of three things, throw the stuff out, give it away or sell it because it still has some value. How much easier it is for us to clean up our property than it is to clean up our inner souls? When we get rid of this junk, we are that much richer for it. Sometimes we can't put a price on things that really matter. What is your freedom worth to you?

  • Are You Following Your "Knows" Or Your "I Don't Knows"?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] How are you in following your inner conscience, that little voice that talks to you? Do you push it aside and go ahead with what you know is wrong or do you let it have the last word and obey it? There are always consequences in which one you may follow. If you live a life with no God, you will have no peace, but if you know God, you will know peace.

  • How Much Do You Love Me?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] How much is "this much"? There were two fathers, both who loved their sons so much they were willing to sacrifice them for a greater love. What kind of love could be greater than that of a parent for it's child? Is it possible to love something or someone more?

  • Dead Man Walking
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] What does it mean to be a dead man walking? How can you walk and be dead at the same time? Unless you have died to yourself and given your soul to Christ, you are a dead man walking!

  • Here Comes the Bride
[Relationships:Wedding] A wedding is a big event for the bride to be. She imagines it to be a day of perfection, a day of beauty and most of all, a glorious time when she will come to her new husband and the two shall become one. She will appear before him without spot or blemish, and the groom will be swept away by her beauty and preparation. This holds true when we prepare ourselves to be the bride of Christ. How much preparation have you given to this wedding day? Will you be invited to attend the ceremony?

  • The Importance of Honoring Mothers and Fathers
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Did you realize this is the only commandment that comes with a promise attatched to it? Find out what that promise is and why.

  • There's No Time Like the Present
