Anamchara - Living The Real Life
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
“May you recognise your being as the diamond at the centre of your life.”
In Corrogue the land begins to fall into sleep.
I have awoken from sleep. I woke up this morning with a song in my head. This is something that often happens. Usually the song is speaking to my condition. This is a song written by Freddie Mercury. The rock group Queen wonderfully performed this song. It is an original rock anthem. It is the beginning of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
-
Anamchara - The Value of Ritual
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
We all have rituals.
For most of us these rituals are unconscious. We might sit in the same chair every time we are at a meeting. We might do certain actions in a certain way each morning without realising it. We become creatures of habit. Our lives run in well-set grooves and we hate these routines being disturbed. We protect ourselves against change while all around us change happens.
-
Anamchara - Meeting With The Master
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
“A child's hand in yours what tenderness and power arouses. You are instantly the very touchstone of wisdom and strength.
~ Marjorie Holmes
She said, “Children are for sharing. Not everyone can have one.”
We never did. So it is a delight to share time with these creatures of being. They are still connected to their original face. They still play in the garden of eternity.
-
Anam Cara - Discovering Your Being
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
“May you be blessed
to know that the best
way to do is to be.”
In Corrogue I am practicing “the art of being.”
This is a disciplined practice. As part of this practice I spend each day writing what I refer to as “Zen Pages.” This is writing four or more pages of reflections in the moment. I am blessed when these reflections mirror an experience of flow. This allows my hand to simply move across the page and the writing “to be.” This is my way of “doing” the writing.
-
Anam Chara - Telling Your Story
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
Even the dull and ignorant: they too have their story.
We all have our stories.
Even the dull and the ignorant, they too have their stories. Are you, however, prepared to tell our story? Are you prepared to listen deeply to your heart’s story? We human beings are great storytellers. Story is how we first learn. It is how our ancestors first learned.
-
Anam Cara - Losing your Religion
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational]
“May you value
the life that is more
than the life you own.”
In Corrogue I am “losing my religion.”
“Life, that’s me in the corner.” This is a line from a song I woke up with running through my mind. Even to say it was running through “my mind” is a misnomer. There is simply the observation of lines of a song running as a flow. These lines are from the song “Losing my Religion.” This is a lovely song written by the singer/songwriter Michael Stipe of the rock group REM.
-
Anam Chara - Living A Life Of Value
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational]
“May you value
who you are above
all you do and have
and may you find your SELF
Simply Enjoying Love Forever.
The days shorten but still the singing bird comes. Each morning I am blessed by a creative creature smaller than my hand. This little bird throws its voice to the sky and can be heard from far off.
This little bird does not judge its song or its sound. It shouts its spirit to the winds. It does not think, “My song is not as good as that other birds.” It does not compare its sound to another. It is the singing. The Beloved flows thought the body of this bird that comes outside my window and shares its delight in the morning.
-
Anam Cara - Finding a Song for the Heart
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational]
“I look at you all
see the love there
that’s sleeping while
my guitar gently weeps.”
George Harrison
In Corrogue I am on song.
This morning the mist hangs low in the far off fields. The landscape seems shrouded in mystery. It is always new. It is always fresh to the eye that is accepting of it as it is. I want to go capture this mystery. It is how I imagine the threshold of Tir Na Nog would appear. I want to go and cross this threshold into the land of the ever young. This is the land of the ever-present moment.
-
Anam Chara - The Flow of Life
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
“Listen to the sound
of the river and
you`ll catch a trout.”
In Corrogue I am flowing.
I write a blessing each morning that I allow as a creation in this heart and mind. This facilitates the practice of allowing. This facilitates the practice of flow. Some say I am a dreamer but I am practiced. I am a practitioner of the art of flow. Simply turning up before these blank pages I practice life facilitation. I let go into the surrender of words and the essence of words. I enter ease. This is the meaning of the word “facilitate.” It means, “to make easy.”
-
Anam Cara - Making Sense of Life
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality]
In Corrogue I am coming to my senses.
This morning it is a wet and windy Sunday morning. Each Sunday morning is an extended morning of rest. It is a morning of practice. I practice slowly coming to my senses. It is a morning in which I practice deep caring for the body and the soul. This is a practice of awareness of the sensationalism of life moment to moment.
We are beings of the senses.
