Sue Bergman - EzineArticles.com Expert Author
Healing Therapies have played an important role for me for most of my life. When I was a child my Mother was extremely ill with cancer, and then cured herself through using Alternative Medicine. This experience introduced me to the concept of improving one's life by expanding one's concept of what is possible.
My training in Healing Therapies includes Massage Therapy, Reflexology and BodyTalk. At first I trained in therapies healing the body. Then the ... [More]

- Forgiveness - An Essential Key For Well Being
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] The most important aspect of forgiveness, and the reason that it is such an important element in our well being, is that by forgiving ourselves and other people, we give ourselves the opportunity to live life, as opposed to simply existing. In my new understanding of forgiveness, I understand that by forgiving someone for some harm that they have done to me, I am not forgiving their actions, but I am refusing to allow those actions to color and ruin enjoying and living the rest of my life.
- Fear - The Body Mind Connection
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] Our physical, mental and emotional response is exactly the same whether a threat is real or imagined. What this means is that we cause ourselves a huge amount of grief by imagining events and scenarios which are completely imaginary and have no basis in reality. What toll have we taken on ourselves in terms of the impact we've caused on a physical, mental and emotional level?
- You Are the World's Expert on Yourself and Your Own Life
[Self-Improvement:Empowerment] Everything we need is inside of us - just like an acorn seed knows to grow into an oak tree, we are perfect the way we are, and have come with inner knowledge and instructions as to how we best contribute to the world. We are the only species that we know of, who can personally interfere with the blueprint that we came with. A peach seed will grow into a peach tree. A purebred poodle puppy grows into a poodle dog and will never be a pit-bull, or a poodle with pit-bull characteristics.
- Stress - What is it and What Can We Do About It?
[Self-Improvement:Stress-Management] Why is it that it is so difficult to pinpoint the causes of stress? Stress is an internal response to an external stimulus, and as such is unique to each individual.
- Feeling Overwhelmed? Breathe!
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] There's bound to be somebody who reads the topic and thinks to themselves, "But of course I'm breathing! Are you being silly or what?" Well, the first time I became aware of the fact that maybe I wasn't breathing as well as I should be was when a co-worker of mine would say to me, "Remember to breathe!"
- Help Heal Yourself - Change Your Emotions, Change Your Life
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] When it comes to healing ourselves, it seems to be an insurmountable task, and most of us just give up before we've even started. We seem to expect that healing ourselves would be a complicated and very time consuming exercise, were it even possible. Well, it is possible, and it does not have to be difficult.
- Energy Medicine - Tools to Help Uncover the "I Can" of a Healthy Life
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] There are many people in the world today who have heard the words "no" and "don't" more times than is possible to count. With the intention of keeping us safe our caregivers teach us to operate within certain parameters in our environment. This entails telling us things like "don't touch the hot stove", "don't stick your fingers into the wall socket", and "don't climb up on the sofa because you'll fall down" etc.
- Energy Medicine - Part of the New Healing Paradigm
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] The New Healing Paradigm allows us to conceive of the possibility that healing is within us, and that we are not limited to only one method or system of treatment to ensure our own optimal health. It also allows for the fact that we are capable of being active participants in the healing process. According the old paradigm, if we did not feel well we had to consult someone who had studied a specific method and approach to healing, and we had to do as they told us, without question.
- Energy Medicine - The Latest Gimmick Or is There Something to It?
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] It seems everywhere one turns lately, one is being told that one has complete control over oneself and the results one achieves in life, right down to being able to reprogram ourselves at the DNA level. All this sounds a lot more like a gimmick or a science fiction novel than something we are able to achieve in reality. And yet, there are countless cases of proof that the principles and methods behind Energy Medicine are extremely powerful, and they work.
- BodyTalk - Complementary Or Standalone Healthcare System
[Health-and-Fitness:Alternative] BodyTalk in fact falls into the category of Energy Medicine and is not all invasive or prescriptive. A BodyTalk Practitioner does not do any invasive procedures and neither diagnoses nor prescribes anything. This makes BodyTalk an excellent healthcare system that can be used both on a standalone basis or it works very well as a complementary healthcare system too.
- BodyTalk - Integrating Change
[Health-and-Fitness:Alternative] BodyTalk is an alternative healing modality that can help one deal with change. Change is an integral part of life, but is not always easy to deal with.
- BodyTalk - What is Healing?
[Health-and-Fitness:Alternative] One cannot understand what healing is without understanding what health is. Health can be defined as well-being and optimal functionality on all levels; physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual.
- Energy Medicine - Healing on the Quantum Level
[Health-and-Fitness:Mind-Body-Spirit] The premise behind Energy Medicine assumes that all things are connected and accepts this to be valid and real. The assumption is that we are spiritual (energy) beings having a physical experience and that our thoughts, beliefs and assumptions are what shape our world.
