  • Upgrading The Hard Drive In Your Play Station 3
[Gaming:Computer-Games] Good news for Play Station 3 users: You do not have to settle for the puny 20 or 40 GB hard drive that comes with your PS3. The Play Station 3 allows you to take out and hot-swap your hard drive, and it's not that hard to do. This means that you can upgrade your PS3 HDD to as much as a 200 GB hard drive, and maybe even more. You can keep more data from your games, files and other types of media on your Play Station 3 gaming console without making any major changes.

  • What's With All The Hype? The New PS3 Processor Chip
[Gaming:Console-Systems] There was quite a lot of hype last year about Play Station 3's revolutionary processor chip, "The Cell." This processor chip was going to blow everybody's minds and totally change the way we think about video games. It would make games so amazingly realistic, you'd never be able to go back to the old systems again.

  • Does The PS3 Have Overheating Problems?
[Gaming:Console-Systems] Things weren't looking so good for Sony at the Tokyo Games Show in September 2006. Sony was showing off their eagerly anticipated new Play Station 3 consoles, and the demo machines were sputtering and dying left and right. This was especially bad news considering the recent recall of Sony's lithium ion batteries.

  • Running Linux On The PS3
[Gaming:Console-Systems] One of the great features of the Play Station 3 is that it can use Linux, which means that PS3 owners can customize their system and get lots more out of it. Gaming consoles are usually designed so that foreign systems can't run on them, but the PS3 goes in the total opposite direction, allowing an experienced Linux user to personalize their system. Most gaming systems are "locked" so that other systems can't be run, so PS3 is unconventional in allowing this. The only thing you can't do on the PS3 is run accelerated graphics.

  • Hand Over The Console: The Fake PS3 Theft And Other Crimes
[Gaming:Console-Systems] When the new Play Station 3 came out, people were doing anything they could to get a unit for themselves. People were camping out all night, pre-ordering, looking online for deals, absolutely anything. They'd stop at nothing to lay their hands on a PS3 gaming console. Some have been known to resort to illegal means.
