It proves that the doctrine that the soul sleeps until the judgment is false. The spirit goes to God at death of the body according to Scripture. It returned to the body when the daughter of Jairus was raised. (Lk 8:55). The dead body is certainly not conscious but the soul is aware of the condition of the body and may observe the funeral services. The soul that has obeyed God is comforted and knows it is now in a far better place.

Success comes when we are skilled in applying the knowledge we have. Christianity is the thinking person's religion. The Lord said, "Come let us reason together," in Isaiah 1:18. The book, "Climbing the Heavenly Stairs" emphases how the Bible instructs to learn and apply things that are true, pure, holy, and proper for physical and spiritual success.

Taking Your Best Swing

The Heavenly Realms
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The Heavenly Realm passages describe the fantastic honor that God blesses Christians. The purpose for raising us to the heavenly realms with Christ is given in 1:10 of the Book of Ephesians- "To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ." We are counted worthy of the heavenly realms because of our covenant relationship with God.

Balance

They permit their negative emotions to terrorize them into thinking they are doomed to failure. Negative emotions must be balanced with positive ones, doubt with confidence, difficult tasks with easier ones, and work balanced with what that you enjoy. Accept who you are, find a job that fits your style, believe in yourself, and do not let others discourage you.

The Jesus Difference

Non believers and people who worship principles of other books continue to demand the name of Jesus, be forbidden, in public, in spite of the fact that Christian churches outnumber the others by about 200 to one. We are supposed to be ruled by the majority and not the minority. The name of Jesus is far above all other names.

Power Within
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] We often get things backward. We look to external circumstances to determine how we are doing. We think that we will be happy when our circumstances are right. Success and happiness do not come from without but from within. You have to claim happiness and act like you are successful to be happy and successful. Both poverty and wealth are created by the application of the mind. It depends on which one we embrace. You do not have to be rich to be happy, and you do not have to be poor to be miserable. Fulfillment comes from a contented mind.

Reality Creator
[Self-Improvement:Attraction] We often confuse reality with delusion. We wear masks for fear that if people know who and what we really are they will not accept us. Since we have been criticized, and have had failures, we sometimes believe the fairy tales our negative emotions tell us. We need to shake off these myths, come out of the shadows, take charge of our life, and create the reality that we desire. Everyone is a reality creator. We have to decide which reality we want.

The Name of Jesus
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus is not just a way to heaven. He is the only way. No one comes to the father except through him (JN 14:6). He was with the Father when the world was created. He is the word that God created the world with! He came straight from heaven and returned there when his work on earth was finished. No one else has been there except Satan and he was thrown out! It only makes sense to let the one from heaven lead you there. Satan wants you to believe there are many ways to heaven. Do not listen to him for he is the father of lies.

God Works in Us
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Most people do not realize that God is working in their lives. He put you where you are to train you for his purpose and to give you a blessing. He creates circumstances to make you a better person so you can do greater work. Things happen according to his plan to develop your character.

Get High On Life

We must however, remember that this world was not meant to be a perfect place without difficulties or suffering. Although it was created and belongs to the God of heaven, Satan reigns as the god of this world (2 CO 2:4). He goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour (1PE 5:8). The evil one causes much pain and suffering by inflicting people with hate and destructive sinfulness.

Evaluating Faith and Doubt

The term "In Christ" is used 89 times in the New Testament, which shows the importance of being in him. From Romans 6:11 to First Peter 5:14, we are bombarded with "In Christ." It appears in almost every chapter, usually several times. If we glance at a couple of books, it will show how often the term is used. In the book of Ephesians it occurs nine times. In the book of Colossians, it occurs six times.

Overcome Obstacles Through Faith

The Fleshly Jesus and the Spiritual Jesus
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus was one of us when he was in the flesh. We identify with our own. The Spiritual world is difficult to grasp because we are in the flesh. Jesus is even closer to us in the Spirit, even if we can’t see him. He is inside us. We need to learn to see by faith. Since we can't see Jesus in the flesh, it may be difficult to convince ourselves that he is still around. He is still here, he is just playing hide and seek. Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you (MT 7:7).

Many are Called, Few Are Chosen
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There are many different beliefs about salvation. It is true that the Bible gives us assurance of eternal life, but the promises of God are conditional. Scripture makes it plain that only the obedient will be saved. In the parable of the wedding banquet in Matthew 22:14, Jesus said, "Many are called, but few are chosen." The NIV replaced the word called with invited. Everyone that hears the gospel is called or invited. Only those who respond to the requirements and are faithful to death (REV 2:10), are chosen for salvation.

Abiding in Christ
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ (RO 8:9). The redeemed receive their spiritual strength from him. They must abide in him and live according to his principles. We are commanded to abide with Christ in John 15:4. It is rendered "Abide" in the King James and the NIV translates the Greek as "Remain." Remaining in him is crucial to our salvation. The Contemporary English Version uses the statement, "Stay joined to me."

Where is the Good News?

B.C. includes one story that is good news. You hear of all those who were killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon, and other places in the world. You hear of floods, hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, murders, rapes, and scandals. The news is bad because Satan, has inflected people with sin. The result is lust, rapes, murders, scandals and other bad things. World leaders have trouble getting along because some of them want their country to have more at the expense of the others. It is not going to get any better as long as sin reigns.

Three Areas To Look For Help
