Most of us have never been hungry because we did not have the money to buy food. You attract wealth when you feel and act like you are wealthy. Wealth is a relative term. - The Meaning of Worship
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The meaning of worship is often misunderstood. Those not familiar with the Bible have little knowledge of God. They therefore cannot worship properly whom they do not know. Religion in general, imagines a being that cannot be understood. Strange and mysterious beliefs lead to weird and ineffective worship practices. The Bible explains everything we need to know about God and his requirements. A knowledge of God and his the word is required to understand and appreciate worship.
- The Need For Relaxation
[Self-Improvement:Stress-Management] A normal amount of stress is beneficial, but too much is detrimental. We can handle the difficulties of work. What causes the pressure are the haunting fears of failure, the stinging rebukes of our supervisor, the anxiety of worry that comes from constant pressure to do better. Relaxation is essential to survival in the uncertain job security of today.
- Your Meaning of Life
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] People have struggled with the meaning of life since the beginning of time. When we examine our connection and responsibility to others, it begins to make sense. It makes more sense when we learn of our vertical connection. Relationship with family brings joy to life. Affairs and broken marriages destroy this meaning. Those who deny the existence of truth do not understand their existence. Life is made up of truth, about everything.
- The One That Rocked the World
[News-and-Society:Religion] He had a greater impact than all the scholars, all the armies and all the world powers put together. The Bible outsells all other books. Jesus is the only prophet that forgave sins, and was foretold for thousands of years. No one else died to forgive our sins. Statues that are worshiped have no life, but Jesus created life.
- Life is About Learning
[Self-Improvement:Success] One of the most important decisions in life is deciding on a career. You must be in touch with your desires to find your dream. You must learn who you are to decide where you belong. Know yourself to find your niche. You become what you think about most. Think positively for success.
- Not Good Enough For God
[News-and-Society:Religion] Some believe that a God of love will not cause anyone to be lost. Do not be deceived. Thousands of Israelites died in the wilderness because of unbelief. Others believe they are not good enough to be saved. These false ideas come from a lack of knowledge of the Bible. Do not be misled by the uninformed. Study the New Testament and learn the truth for yourself.
- Developing Vision
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] Millions drift through life without a purpose. They never find their niche, but barely exist on a dead end job. Vision to see opportunities, discover which fit abilities, and initiative to make preparation for requirements can change lives. With vision, you do not have to remain stagnated in a menial job. Vision to pursue a purpose and the perseverance to never give up is what the American dream is all about.
- The Day Is Yours
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] You have been given each day to use as you choose. Remember, however, that freedom comes with responsibility. Get to work on time and give your best efforts. Learn how to manage money. Avoid getting in debt over your head. High interest rates will tie you up for a lifetime. It is best to use credit only for buying a house and car. Put off other purchases until you can save the money.
- Peace Within
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Prices are going up for everything but houses and the value of the dollar. They are plummeting. Jobs are scarce. You feel like you are paying the national debt when you fill up your tank. People are struggling to pay the bills. Who knows how much worse it is going to be? Anxiety is rising. It is time to put your trust in the one who gives peace. He will help you cope with the pressures of life. He will give you peace within.
- The Top Concern
[News-and-Society:Religion] With the cost of everything going through the roof, it is difficult to pay the bills. The important thing is not to lose sight of the top concern. The high cost of living should not be your major task. Remaining true to your spouse, your kids and your God is your top concern. Helping kids to discover who they are is a major undertaking. Your purpose should also be to guide them past the temptations facing them. The bills are bumps in the road. Kids that turn out right are mountainous rewards for your efforts.
- Is Perception Reality?
[Self-Improvement] The mind perceives, but it is often deceived by what the eyes see. Hasty decisions, and the tendency to take the easy way out often cloud judgment. Some things seem real but are actually substitutes for reality. Before you make your decision, be sure you are not chasing a substitute. Perception is not always reality so make a complete investigation to see if it is real.
- Being Content
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] The wisest mortal that ever lived struggled with the meaning of life "under the sun." If you only look to this life for total happiness, you will be disappointed. Mankind is physical, mental, and spiritual. All three must be treated to be fulfilled. A measure of earthly happiness can only be obtained by being thankful for good circumstances, and putting up with the bad. True happiness comes from faith in God.
- They Do Not Know Who They Are
[News-and-Society:Religion] The power to achieve happiness and success comes from within. It cannot be obtained from other people. Overcoming obstacles comes from confidence in yourself. This requires having a clear picture of whom you are. You must understand that you were created in the image of a perfect being. When you draw from within, the Spirit of God, who lives in the redeemed, guides, you to the right decisions in life.
- A Letter From God
[News-and-Society:Religion] Today's greatest tragedy is that millions of people are unprepared to meet God in the judgment. Even some who attend church services are lacking in the Lord's requirements. This is because they seldom pick up the Bible and study its contents. Merely reading the word does not always enlighten the reader to the truth. The Bible must be rightly divided. One must know where to look to find the answer sought.
- Crucial Information for Unbelievers
[News-and-Society:Religion] The world thinks that God and his word are fairy tales, but the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength (1CO 1:25). That is why it pleased God to save mankind through the foolishness of what is preached (Verse 21). The world does not believe what it cannot explain. Since many things happen in the world that cannot be explained, it proves that just because it cannot be explained, it does not mean it is not true.
- Accepting Yourself
[Self-Improvement:Success] Everyone has equal rights to exist in this world. We were all created by the same God. It may seem that talented people or those in high positions have more rights than you, but they do not. The God of heaven recognizes all races and everyone regardless of their circumstances and social position as equal. You can accept yourself for what and who you are because your Creator accepts you.
- The Secrets of the Universe
[News-and-Society:Religion] There are many doctrines of salvation. Many of them contradict others. Studying the Bible for your self is the only way to know the truth. The book of Acts in the New Testament deals with becoming a Christian and meeting the requirements of God. Each time the question of how to be saved is asked, a different answer is given because each one was in a different place on the road to salvation. You have to put them all together to come up with the whole truth.
- The Myth of Nobody
[News-and-Society:Religion] How many potential skilled workers and company executives are hiding behind the discouraged and despondent feelings of the down and out? Some give success their best shot, and give up when they fail. Most successful people have failed. It is a part of life. The idea that you are a nobody is a myth. Everyone was made in the image of God, and is an important and respected person. Everyone has genius in some area. Many never find it, but you can if you believe in yourself.
- The Peace that Surpasses Understanding
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The world has sought peace since the beginning of time. There have been peace talks. People have marched in the streets for peace, but we continue to have wars and rumors of wars. The problem is that the world has not accepted Jesus Christ. Philosophy, humanism, and Christless religions have been embraced, but the largest part of the world rejects the Prince of Peace. Even though the world does not accept the one that brings peace, individuals can have peace if we live by his standards.
- What is Acceptable Worship?
[News-and-Society:Religion] Worship does not begin with church attendance on Sunday and Wednesday. It begins with respect for the Lord's principles every day of the week. Worship begins by keeping the Lord's commandments throughout the week. If we fail to treat other people with respect our worship will not be accepted. What we do for others, we do for the Lord. The way we live every day is the preparation for acceptable worship.
- The Way You Look at it
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] Whether you succeed in what, your attempting depends largely on how you look at it. If you look at it as beyond your ability, your confidence will shrink and you will fail. If you see it as difficult, but within your capacity, you will probably succeed. The difference between success and failure is often the ability to choose the correct way to tackle it. Success depends on confidence and perspective. Learn to see the total picture, not just the negative aspects.
- What is Missing in Your Life?
[News-and-Society:Religion] Life consists of choices, plans, and their execution. Whether we are satisfied with life, depends on whether we stick to integrity, honesty, and the standards of our self and God. If we leave them out, we will feel that something is missing. Even if happy with success, life will seem empty. Life must be balanced with spiritual values, harmony in the home, at work, and in recreation.
- The Nature of Sin
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We were created with emotions and desires. They are part of the human DNA that makes us different from animals. The desire for the necessities of life is motivation for the work we do. The desire for pleasure and intimacy helps us enjoy life and feel fulfilled. Satan takes advantage of these feelings to tempt us to obtain them in a sinful way. We cannot resist temptation by our own power. The only way is with a knowledge of the Bible.
- Struggling With Life
[News-and-Society:Religion] The quality of your life depends on what you believe. That is because all of your efforts are directed to accomplish what you believe you can do. If you believe, you can do great things you will make plans how to accomplish them. If you have low self esteem you will make few plans since your confidence is low. If you believe in a perfect God, and that you were created in his image, you will have high standards for life.
- Imagine Yourself to Success
[Self-Improvement:Success] Do not let negative thoughts cause you to doubt yourself. Instead, doubt scary thoughts since they are products of your negative side. Have faith in your ability. You imagine both the negative and the positive. You must build up faith in the positive. Picture in your mind what you want to do. Negative thoughts balance the positive so you can arrive at reality. Everyone has God given talent. Discover and develop yours by focusing on the positive to tip the scales in that direction.
- Consciousness of the Soul
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus raised three people from the dead. He spoke to them as if they were alive. They responded to his voice. This shows that the soul is always conscious. It proves that the doctrine that the soul sleeps until the judgment is false. The spirit goes to God at death of the body according to Scripture. It returned to the body when the daughter of Jairus was raised. (Lk 8:55). The dead body is certainly not conscious but the soul is aware of the condition of the body and may observe the funeral services. The soul that has obeyed God is comforted and knows it is now in a far better place.
- State of Mind
[News-and-Society:Religion] Growing to physical or spiritual maturity begins with the renewing of the mind. Life is about learning. Success comes when we are skilled in applying the knowledge we have. Christianity is the thinking person's religion. The Lord said, "Come let us reason together," in Isaiah 1:18. The book, "Climbing the Heavenly Stairs" emphases how the Bible instructs to learn and apply things that are true, pure, holy, and proper for physical and spiritual success.
- Taking Your Best Swing
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] Everyone has seeds of greatness in them, special gifts from their maker. Few find them. Look within for un-surfaced longings, and unformed dreams. Use your imagination to find areas to explore further. Discover your true identity and envision climbing to unthought of heights. Chart a course through an education that will take you to your ultimate destination. Reach out for the position you were created for.
- The Heavenly Realms
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The Heavenly Realm passages describe the fantastic honor that God blesses Christians. The purpose for raising us to the heavenly realms with Christ is given in 1:10 of the Book of Ephesians- "To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ." We are counted worthy of the heavenly realms because of our covenant relationship with God.
- Balance
[Self-Improvement:Stress-Management] People often struggle with life because they have unbalanced thinking and schedules. They permit their negative emotions to terrorize them into thinking they are doomed to failure. Negative emotions must be balanced with positive ones, doubt with confidence, difficult tasks with easier ones, and work balanced with what that you enjoy. Accept who you are, find a job that fits your style, believe in yourself, and do not let others discourage you.
- The Jesus Difference
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The United States was founded on Biblical principles. The Bible was given by our Creator to reveal how to be acceptable to him. Non believers and people who worship principles of other books continue to demand the name of Jesus, be forbidden, in public, in spite of the fact that Christian churches outnumber the others by about 200 to one. We are supposed to be ruled by the majority and not the minority. The name of Jesus is far above all other names.
- Power Within
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] We often get things backward. We look to external circumstances to determine how we are doing. We think that we will be happy when our circumstances are right. Success and happiness do not come from without but from within. You have to claim happiness and act like you are successful to be happy and successful. Both poverty and wealth are created by the application of the mind. It depends on which one we embrace. You do not have to be rich to be happy, and you do not have to be poor to be miserable. Fulfillment comes from a contented mind.
- Reality Creator
[Self-Improvement:Attraction] We often confuse reality with delusion. We wear masks for fear that if people know who and what we really are they will not accept us. Since we have been criticized, and have had failures, we sometimes believe the fairy tales our negative emotions tell us. We need to shake off these myths, come out of the shadows, take charge of our life, and create the reality that we desire. Everyone is a reality creator. We have to decide which reality we want.
- The Name of Jesus
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus is not just a way to heaven. He is the only way. No one comes to the father except through him (JN 14:6). He was with the Father when the world was created. He is the word that God created the world with! He came straight from heaven and returned there when his work on earth was finished. No one else has been there except Satan and he was thrown out! It only makes sense to let the one from heaven lead you there. Satan wants you to believe there are many ways to heaven. Do not listen to him for he is the father of lies.
- God Works in Us
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Most people do not realize that God is working in their lives. He put you where you are to train you for his purpose and to give you a blessing. He creates circumstances to make you a better person so you can do greater work. Things happen according to his plan to develop your character.
- Handling Life
[Self-Improvement:Success] Life can be difficult to figure out. Philosophers study it. People often make a mess of it. Life is about living, loving, working, playing and learning. It is about discovering whom you are and how you fit in the world with others. It is about creating a lifestyle that fits you. It is about managing your time on earth for maximum fulfillment while remaining accountable to God. Whether you are rich, poor, happy or sad, depends on how you handle life.
- Rejecting the Church
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The second part of First John 1:7 is often overlooked. Everyone desires to be cleansed of their sins by Jesus' blood, but it is dependent upon having fellowship with other members of the church. Your obligation to have fellowship is not fulfilled by worshiping at home or under a tree. The command to not forsake the assembly is also binding on believers.
- Create a New Self Image
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Many fail to achieve success and fulfillment because they cannot overcome the negative voices from within that keep shouting that they are useless and doomed to failure. The only way to go forward is to create a new self image with positive voices implanted within the mind. Once this is done, they have the confidence to rely upon their own judgment.
- Thought Process Development
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Thought process development includes learning how to use the right side of the brain. Most of us know little about our subconscious mind, but it is 50 percent of our personality. This is why most people develop only a small part of their potential. Geniuses use both sides of their brain to equal degrees. It is to our advantage to learn all we can about our subconscious.
- The Work Of God
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Our work for God begins with faith and continues with obedience. Abraham believed God and it was counted as righteousness. When he proved his faith by offering his son on the altar, God swore by himself he would keep his promise of blessing all nations through Abraham.
- Be Happy Now
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Millions of people are waiting for their ship to come in. Someday they will hit the lottery, or circumstances will turn around and then, they will be happy. They are deceiving themselves. You have to latch onto contentment and refuse to let go. It will not grab you. Happiness is for those who claim it. Life is a work in progress. You must work to buy the things you need and pursue the hobbies and things that make life worth living. You will never reach a time when you have everything wanted and circumstances are perfect. Life does not work that way. There are always challenges you must face. Those who become successful must continue to work hard to stay successful. Those at the top of their game have to work hard to stay on top.
- Get High On Life
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Many drift through life with no purpose and little incentive. They have a dim view of life. They need to count their blessings, discover their talents, and feel the thrill of doing what they love. They need to get high on life. The most important thing that you have is your life. It was a gift from God. Be thankful even in bad circumstances. Life is how you perceive it, keep a positive attitude so you will conceive it as precious. Do not get high on alcohol or drugs. You do not need an artificial stimulant, get high on the real stimulant - life. Treasure every moment. Respect your existence; do everything in your power to preserve it, and help others to respect and preserve theirs.
- Have a Fulfilling life
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] Making resolutions is often thought of around the first of the year. Planning to improve yourself is good at any time. Nothing can be accomplished without setting specific goals and sticking to them. Everyone desires to have a fulfilling life, but few get around to developing plans for it. This article gives a few things you should consider. Determination of a chief purpose separates the fulfilled from the unfulfilled. It is starting on a journey without knowing where you are going without this step. You will drift like a cork in the ocean without it. Narrow down specifically what you want to accomplish. Write it down and put it where you will see it often.
- Gifts that Cannot be Bought
[Self-Improvement] Christmas is a thrilling time of the year. It teaches the gift of giving. After we learn this lesson, we should continue to give all year to show our love. Giving ourselves to others is the most precious gift we can give. The most valuable gifts cannot be bought. The intangible ones mold character. One of the most precious gifts is that of time. Spending time with children is more valuable than anything purchased. Molding character by teaching the proper value system is priceless.
- The Question of Human Suffering
[News-and-Society:Religion] Human suffering is one of the most difficult things to understand in this world. The Bible does give some explanations, though it is a subject that cannot be completely comprehended. God’s ways are beyond ours, and we must accept it by faith, knowing the Creator cannot do evil. We cannot answer this completely because our thoughts are not his thoughts and our ways are not his ways (ISA 55:9). We must however, remember that this world was not meant to be a perfect place without difficulties or suffering. Although it was created and belongs to the God of heaven, Satan reigns as the god of this world (2 CO 2:4). He goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour (1PE 5:8). The evil one causes much pain and suffering by inflicting people with hate and destructive sinfulness.
- Evaluating Faith and Doubt
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Faith and doubt often exist simultaneously, but examination of the Lord's perfect plan for salvation and loving care, will reveal that most of your doubts are unfounded, and should be discarded. Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (HEB 11:1). After the father asked Jesus to cast the spirit out of his son, he exclaimed, "I believe; help me overcome my unbelief" (MK 9:24).
- Chosen for Royalty
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Where can a sinful person, full of mistakes, be given royal status? In Christ! How can an imperfect person be accepted as if no wrong doing had ever been done? In the loving arms of God! All is forgiven when you are born into the family of the Almighty. This earthly life is only a preparation for the next world. Our future is determined by the choice we make between Christ and the world. Few are born into royalty on earth, but you are, when you are born again. Do not blow the chance to live in the land where you will never grow old.
- Rise Above frustration
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Is frustration about problems getting to you? Do you feel like you are batting your head against the wall with no positive results? Looking at seemingly insurmountable obstacles does not give you a true picture of life. When you are frustrated, your mind cannot work efficiently. It keeps focusing on the impossibilities instead of what is possible. Some stress is good to prevent boredom, but when excessive it can naturalize your ability. There are some techniques that can be used to keep frustration at bay. It requires confidence, experience, and methodical procedures. The main thing is to keep a positive attitude with your thinking clear.
- The Truth Will Set You Free
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Many people search for answers to their problems but overlook the obvious—the truth. They dance around the fact that they are over their head in debt, or a sinner that needs repentance, or whatever they are guilty of. The truth may hurt, but it is the only thing that will set you free. Swallow your pride, stop your delusions, and do what you need to do. Jesus changes lives by making people come to grips with the truth. He alters one’s purpose by amending the value system.
- Attitude Adjustment Needed
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Life is a series of choices. Decisions control your life. Thoughts are major factors in success or failure. You must take stock of your thoughts and make attitude adjustments when necessary to change to the appropriate mood. We all need an attitude adjustment once in a while. When you are in a sour mood, you cannot do your best. You have the power to control your thoughts. There are different ways to look at anything. You can choose between positive, negative and indifferent thoughts. When you get started thinking in the wrong way, it can lead to disaster. Our thoughts control what we do and how well we do it.
- In Christ
[News-and-Society:Religion] There are other prophets, but only Jesus Christ was foretold hundreds and thousands of years before he came to earth. Only the son of God created all things (COL 1:16). Only the one that called himself "The son of man" lived a perfect life and died to forgive the sins of believers. Only Jesus gives abundant life. The term "In Christ" is used 89 times in the New Testament, which shows the importance of being in him. From Romans 6:11 to First Peter 5:14, we are bombarded with "In Christ." It appears in almost every chapter, usually several times. If we glance at a couple of books, it will show how often the term is used. In the book of Ephesians it occurs nine times. In the book of Colossians, it occurs six times.
- Overcome Obstacles Through Faith
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Success begins inside you. Education, finances, and determination alone will not reach the goal. Unless you believe in yourself, you can't be a winner. Believing that Christ will give you strength, will give you incentive to tackle the most relentless obstacles. You may be weak, but he never fails. The most relentless obstacles can be overcome through faith in Christ. You have to have faith in your own ability and an unwavering faith in the Son of God. You can have faith in yourself because you know the Lord will give you whatever you need to accomplish goals he approves of.
- Success Through Failure
[Self-Improvement:Success] Some are lucky and talented enough to go straight to the top of their profession without failure. These are few and far between. Most of us struggle with obstacles, trip over our weaknesses, pick ourselves up and start over, perhaps more than once. This is not all bad. Failures permit us to correct errors, and adjust sights to eventually hit pay dirt. We have to realize that failure is the natural process of succeeding. We have to find out what does not work before we discover what does. Even if we copy the methods of a successful person, we have to discover what works for us.
- A Crown of Thorns
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The Creator of the universe died with a crown of thorns on his head. We would think he deserved a crown of gold. There is nothing on this earth that would do justice to Jesus Christ. He created the gold, and the thorns-he created all things. The thorns represented the pain that he suffered being a human being, fulfilling the law, and purchasing our salvation. Though he claimed to be a king, he refused to be a political figure on earth because his kingdom is not of this world. He did not come to be served but to serve. He was the one that washed the feet of the apostles.
- Success Factors
[Self-Improvement:Success] Success can be elusive. Some chase it for a lifetime and never find it. You must acquire the correct factors to become successful. You do not have to have a high IQ. It often takes several attempts to find the right combinations to hit pay dirt. The factors of decision, time, priority, stress, obstacles, flexibility, focus, consistency. discipline, and failure have much to do with success.
- The Fleshly Jesus and the Spiritual Jesus
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus was one of us when he was in the flesh. We identify with our own. The Spiritual world is difficult to grasp because we are in the flesh. Jesus is even closer to us in the Spirit, even if we can’t see him. He is inside us. We need to learn to see by faith. Since we can't see Jesus in the flesh, it may be difficult to convince ourselves that he is still around. He is still here, he is just playing hide and seek. Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you (MT 7:7).
- Many are Called, Few Are Chosen
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There are many different beliefs about salvation. It is true that the Bible gives us assurance
of eternal life, but the promises of God are conditional. Scripture makes it plain that only the
obedient will be saved. In the parable of the wedding banquet in Matthew 22:14, Jesus said, "Many are called, but few are chosen." The NIV replaced the word called with invited. Everyone that hears the
gospel is called or invited. Only those who respond to the requirements and are faithful to
death (REV 2:10), are chosen for salvation.
- Abiding in Christ
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ (RO 8:9). The redeemed receive their spiritual strength from him. They must abide in him and live according to his principles. We are commanded to abide with Christ in John 15:4. It is rendered "Abide" in the King James and the NIV translates the Greek as "Remain." Remaining in him is crucial to our salvation. The Contemporary English Version uses the statement, "Stay joined to me."
- Where is the Good News?
[News-and-Society:Religion] It seems that if there was no bad news we would have no news at all. It is so depressing to watch the news that Brian Williams of N. B.C. includes one story that is good news. You hear of all those who were killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon, and other places in the world. You hear of floods, hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, murders, rapes, and scandals. The news is bad because Satan, has inflected people with sin. The result is lust, rapes, murders, scandals and other bad things. World leaders have trouble getting along because some of them want their country to have more at the expense of the others. It is not going to get any better as long as sin reigns.
- Three Areas To Look For Help
[News-and-Society:Religion] There are so much evil and violence in this world. Many are trapped by it and are desperate for help. We can help offset the turmoil by giving assistance to others. We should accept help when we need it and help others when we can. Sometimes life throws us a curve that we cannot handle. When there is no solution is sight, we need assistance. Everyone needs help sometimes. There are three areas that we can turn to. There are many people in the world, who have run up against a stone wall. They have tried everything they have at their disposal and have lost all hope. Some are addicted to drugs, or alcohol, others are over their head in debt and some are starving or have other problems.
- Making Sense of Life
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Many are in a daze about life. They don’t have a clue what it is about. There are so many ideas floating around that it is difficult to know which one to believe. Some can’t figure out what they are supposed to do. Time keeps ticking away toward death and it makes you wonder what the point of life is. Life is not about pleasure. It is not about riches. It is not about winning or losing. It is not about being served, but serving. It is not about your earthly position, but your hope of a better place.
- What is Involved in Believing?
[News-and-Society:Religion] Believing in God does not necessarily mean we are saved. There is more to salvation than acknowledging a Supreme Being. We are saved by faith, but it must be without doubts. There is no doubt that faith is necessary for prayers to be answered. The belief system in mankind is extremely complex. We have the conscious and subconscious buried deep within our skulls.
- Positive Outlook
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] We are going to live with ourselves for the rest of our lives, and we should make it as pleasant as possible by having a positive outlook. Everyone has to face difficult problems; they are a part of life. Do not yield to the sinking feelings that come your way from time to time. We are admonished not to worry. The Lord has promised to work things for good (RO. 8:28).
- Personal Growth
[Self-Improvement:Personal-Growth] Too often people think they are through learning when they leave school. We should never forget that our purpose in life is to grow and develop in all areas. We need to take a lesson from nature. Grass, plants, trees and other vegetation only knows one thing—grow. From the time they emerge from the ground they continue to grow. If the grass is cut or trees are trimmed they just grow more.
- Lift Your Spirits with Gratitude
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Everyone has times of feeling down in the dumps. When your project fails it naturally, generales some negative feelings. Going through the same motions in your routine can make you blue from boredom. You need to tell yourself to snap out of it, but it is not always easy. One way to give the boot to the blues is to count your blessings. If you live in America, you have blessings that the people of most of the world can only dream about.
- Bible or Da Vinci Code
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The movie of the Da Vinci Code is playing now. It questions the divinity of Jesus, claims he was married to Mary Magdalene and had a child. There is no evidence to support this. This article shows what the Bible says about Jesus. He arose from the dead, was seen by thousands of people, including the apostles who knew him well. They testify in Scripture that he is the Son of God.
- What is Real?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Christians must come to a realization of what is real and what is not. Some things are not what they seem to be. Evil promises pleasure without consequences, but in reality it is a deadly trap of Satan. It is an artificial substitute for what life is about. What we read of in the Bible is true reality. Sinful things are an imitation of a real life and reality. They can bring satisfaction only momentarily. Those caught up in them are in a dream world that will eventually crumble around them.
- Do You Know Who You Are?
[Self-Improvement:Attraction] To succeed you must know yourself. Many fail because they don’t take time to determine who they really are and what they want to accomplish. You cannot choose a career that fits who you are if you have not examined yourself. Have you ever considered who you are? Of course you know your name and where you live, but who are you really? What are you trying to accomplish in life? What turns you on? Does the position you have at work fit your personality? Are you headed in the direction of your dreams or away from them?
- Concept of God
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Whether you deny that God exists, or are active in promoting his cause, it depends on your concept of him. It is imperative to examine just whom and what he is, whatever you believe about him.
The word, "concept" is defined as an abstract or general idea inferred or derived from specific instances. One of the most important concepts is the picture formed in the mind when God is thought of. We serve him in direct proportion to our concept of him.
- What are Dreams Made From?
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] Many desire a better life but only those who take action and make preparations fulfill their dreams. Often goals are too general, without specific times and methods determined. You must have details set for small steps leading to the completion of the goal. What are dreams made from? They may aspire to reach the stars, but they originate in the desires and longings of the heart. Whether it is a business of your own, an exciting high paying job, or something even more exotic, dreams come from the imaginations of the mind.
- Dismiss Your Doubts
[Self-Improvement:Success] Everyone wants to succeed but many are held back by their doubts. Every time they make big plans their negative feelings prevent them from proceeding. There is a solution to this problem. Doubts must be dealt with and removed from the mind to prevent them from haunting us.
- The Hatred Infection
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The flu and respiratory ailments have been affecting many people lately. This is a warning about another infection that can cause much trouble. It is mental rather than physical, but it can cause physical ailments. This infection is called hatred. Be on guard against it for it is spreading rapidly.
- The Time Is Now
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This article about time was written to help everyone realize that the time is now. Not to act is to fail. Everything on earth has its own time and its own season (ECC 3:1-2). There is a time for planting and a time for harvesting. There is a time for starting a business, for investing, and a time for taking a profit. Car companies say the best time to buy is when you need to replace a vehicle. The biggest mistake is in thinking that you are not ready to start a business, or any project.
- He Died For Me
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Jesus spoke to the crowds, but he also spent a lot of time speaking personally to individuals. He welcomed everyone, publicans, prostitutes, the rich, the poor, even little children. He attended weddings, he ate with publicans and sinners, he was interested in all people and all occasions. He wants to be a part of our thought process because he is our personal friend as well as our God.
- The Value of Your Values
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This article is about the value system that controls your life. It is based on what you have been taught. It may be published if the resource box is left intact. All adults have a set of values built into their conscience. Each of us have beliefs of what we should and should not do. Schools and colleges do not teach value. Our code of behavior is usually ingrained into our character by association with parents and churches.
- The Origin Of Vision
[Self-Improvement:Creativity] There is much talk of vision in the business world as well as in personal life. Vision is essential for success in any venture. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs (29:18). But what is vision and where does it come from? Vision originates in the mind but how does one bring it forth? It is a combination of knowledge wisdom, imagination and brainstorming. We sometimes call it, “thinking outside of the box,” but what exactly is the box? The box might be defined as the conventional way of thinking. That is where imagination comes in. When everything obvious fails to come up with the answer, we must conjure it up from the right brain.
- Self Concept
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Self Concept must not be evaluated on strengths, weaknesses, performance, or acceptance by others. The only thing that counts is the one that created us and accepting self. Those who identify themselves with their occupation or family ties can lose their identity when they retire, or their loved ones die. People also identify themselves by their strengths and weakness. Some ignore their weaknesses and believe they have no limitations. Others associate themselves with their weaknesses.
- The S-U-N and the S-O-N
[News-and-Society:Religion] The S-U-N and the S-O-N have much in common. The S-U-N is the visible light and the S-O-N is the spiritual luminance. They both shine on the world. They illuminate, one for the vision of the eyes, and the other for the understanding of the soul. The S-U-N brings warmth to the day and eliminates darkness. The S-O-N brings forgiveness and peace to a troubled sin sick world by revealing the truth and exposing evil.
- The Emotion of Motion
[Self-Improvement:Success] There is an ocean of emotion in the starting motion. There is the thrill of a new venture, the fear of overspending, and the hope of making a profit. At least you are moving, taking a swing at success. Stewing about what to do is not pleasant. Motion, on the other hand, gives one a feeling of progress.
- The Success of Failure
[Self-Improvement:Success] Failure is usually viewed in a negative connotation, causing one to feel worthless. If instead of self-pity after failure, you view it from another perspective, you can often turn failure into success. When things don’t turn out the way they were planned, you can often discover what was first overlooked. Failures are our training ground. We must permit them to be our schoolmasters, showing us the right way by eliminating the wrong ways.
- Courts Judging God
[News-and-Society:Religion] The courts are judging God and kicking out everything that represents him in public. The Ten Commandments and Nativity scenes can no longer be displayed publicly. Prayers cannot be given in the name of Jesus in public in some states. It appears that they are trying to make it wrong to wish someone a merry Christmas. This is taking away freedom of speech that we have always had in America.
- Is World's End Near?
[News-and-Society:Religion] The recent calamities have caused many to wonder if they are signs of the world’s end. Mother nature has been on a rampage lately. The 2004 tsunami in the Indian ocean was estimated to kill 170 to 275 thousand. Hurricanes destroyed New Orleans and other cities on the gulf coast and there was record number of hurricanes in 2005. Tornadoes and heavy snow storms seem to be getting worse. Are all of these things signs the world is coming to an end? Many think they are. Prophecy buffs point to verses in the Bible that speak of signs of the end of days.
- Enhancing Self-Esteem
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Success in anything comes from self esteem. The Oxford University Press Dictionary defines self-esteem as confidence in one’s own worth or abilities. You gain confidence in your abilities by doing. The problem is that we usually never attempt something believed impossible. In other words, you have to believe you can do it, before you have the courage to try. The feelings inside us keep saying that we are not good enough. They say we can’t be any more than mediocre, and it’s a struggle to go that far. The situation is no where near as bad as our negative feelings would lead us to believe. We must reject such harsh attacks on our self esteem. Everyone has a right to feel positive about themselves. The reason is as old as the world. We were created in the image of God!
- Who Needs God?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] There is a desire within everyone to relate to their spiritual side, even if they are unaware of it. Those who have an endless desire for pleasure, wealth, or power are searching for something to fill the empty place inside them. They don’t realize that they are really searching for God.
- Harness Your Subconscious
[Self-Improvement:Success] Are you frustrated by external circumstances? Is your business failing because of high prices and competition? Have you tried to change external things but failed? The secret to success is not external but internal. The wise man Solomon said, “As he thinks in his heart so is he.” Your thoughts determine who and what you are. You cannot successfully change from the outside. You must change from the inside. Successful people have learned to control their thinking. They have conditioned their mind to screen out negative, destructive thoughts. They have discovered how to harness their subconscious.
- Starved for Relief
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Millions drift through life not having the slightest idea of where they are going. If they have a job, they feel more like a number than a person because no one seems to care whether they live or die. If their supervisor notices them, it is because they have done something wrong. They are improperly trained in
what they are to do, and yelled at when they don’t perform up to expectations which they were never told about. Many try religion for relief but none is found.
- Walking in the Light
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] One of the glorious promises we have from our Heavenly Father is that we are cleansed of sins we commit out of weakness. We don’t have to worry about dying before we can ask forgiveness. If we are living according his principles our sins are taken away as we commit them. This is just one of the many applications of his marvelous grace.
- Combating a Negative Attitude
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Everyone gets down in the dumps occasionally. We have our ups and downs, our successes and failures. We just naturally feel positive some times and negative at other times. There are times, however, that we don’t bounce back quickly from our negative attitude. When you remain negative for a long period, it is a signal that something is wrong. It can lead to depression, lack luster job performance, and eventually to poor health. We need to try extra hard to snap out of it.
- Why Fear Speaking in Public?
[Self-Improvement:Stress-Management] An excellent way of being recognized as an expert in your field is to speak in public. Unfortunately most people are terrified at the thought of it. They may also be afraid of using improper grammar, or forgetting what they wanted to say. If you focus on getting your message across it will take your mind off being in front of all those people.
- Testing and Tempting
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] This article about testing and tempting is offered to give understanding to this confusing subject. Understanding the trials we are struggling with is very difficult. We will never comprehend fully in this life, but there are principles in Scripture that illuminate the subject.
- Who is God?
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Since the beginning of time mankind has pondered, who God is. He did not choose to reveal much about himself probably because we couldn’t understand it. He is another dimension in which we don’t even understand the terms. This article summarizes what is revealed about him in the Bible. Please publish it liberally to spread the word about him.
- Finding The Intangible
[Home-Based-Business:Network-Marketing] The Bible speaks of people with eyes that don’t see and ears that don’t hear. It is referring to those who refuse to accept the truth. Sometimes we see but don’t observe. Seeing often refers to understanding. This reminds us of many that attempt to make a living with an online business. The path to success is difficult for beginners to see.
- Is it Focus or Tunnel Vision?
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] To achieve success you must narrow your vision on your plan. The
question you should consider, is it focus or tunnel vision? The former refers to bringing into focus, to adjust the focus of (as the eye or a lens), to concentrate attention or effort on the most urgent problems.
Tunnel vision is constriction of the visual field resulting in loss of peripheral vision, like looking down a tunnel, unaware of what is going on around you. The expression "tunnel vision" may also be used as a metaphor for narrow-mindedness or to describe researchers or investigators (such as entrepreneurs) who pursue an investigation with their conclusion already decided and proceed by only accepting evidence that supports their conclusion and excluding any evidence that contradicts their assumptions.
- Getting the Feel of Your Faith
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Whether we admit it or not, we operate by emotion. Our comfort level, attitude, and efficience are largely determined by how we feel. Getting the feel of your faith enables you to be confident and comfortable with your spiritual condition. It determines your influence, where and how often you attend church services,
and what you do for the Lord.
- Optimism, the Only Option for Success
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] People with negative attitudes may wonder why they never achieve the degree of success they desire. It is a fact of life that if you want to succeed, you must be optimistic. Your attitude determines your future. If you don’t think anything is going to work for you, you won’t put forth the effort needed for success. Your subconscious mind creates what you believe, so convince it that you believe in your success.
- Finding Your Employement Niche
[Self-Improvement:Goal-Setting] Most workers don’t know what they want to do. This leads to stress, confusion and unhappiness as they drift from job to job. The days of having one job for life have mainly passed us by. We need a broad education so that we can move from one occupation to another with relative ease. Then we need to specialize in one area and find a mentor to become an expert.
- True Justice and Freedom
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The world’s idea of justice and freedom fall short of their purpose. Prison bars keep the guilty from repeating their crime while behind them. They cannot change the person. Freedom comes with a price. We have to take responsibility for our actions. We are never free from the tensions of living on the earth. We must pay the price of making a living and existing among people of different temperaments and cultures. Being in Christ is the perfect answer because he has already paid the price for our sins.
- Beneficiaries of the Promise
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The gospel started with Abraham. That is why Scripture says he was introduced to the gospel in advance. If anyone was ever a religious fanatic it was Abraham. If anyone ever had an excuse to disobey God it was Abraham. God tested him in many ways including asking him to offer his only son of promise on the altar. Because he passed the test, we have the blessings of being in Christ.
- What is Life?
[Self-Improvement] Mankind has struggled with the purpose of life since the beginning of time. Some feel that life is pleasure, and everything is done to facilitate that end. Others would name work, relationships, family, money, and other things as the meaning of life. What do we mean by the term life? The way you view life determines how you live. Life is more than existing. It is knowing where you fit in and being content with it.
- Counsel for Non Church Goers
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] Do you stay away from church because you think the Bible is a fairy tale? Do you love to sleep in on Sunday morning? Not going to church has the advantage of having free time. There is something that you need to know before you make a habit of not going to church. The Bible is from God. It has some bad news. It also has some good news that you need to examine. You need to read this article...
- Formula for Spiritual Growth
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The Bible maakes it plain that we must become mature. We are not to be like the Hebrew Christians who remained at the same place they started. They were instructed to leave the first principles and go on to maturity. The formula for growth is laid out concisely in Second Peter 1:5-7. We must be careful to follow the exact order given. Skipping steps will give us in trouble in a hurry. Spiritual maturity requires all the faith and patience we can muster.
- Victorious Living
[Self-Improvement:Motivation] We have a choice in life. We can feel sorry for ourselves because we are not rich and loaded with talent,or we can step up to the plate and take our best shot. Sometimes after being cut down by serious mistakes or an overbearing boss people develop victim mentality. Feeling sorry for yourself is the worse thing you can do. Learn from your mistakes and come out swinging harder than ever.
- Living by Faith
[Self-Improvement:Spirituality] The command to live by faith can be kind of scary. It's like going into a black hole. How can you navigate blind? It is not talking about going without our physical senses. Depending on only what you can see has limitations. Jesus told Peter to launch out into the deep. To catch the big fish and the sought after positions you have to get beyond shallow water. The righteous must live by faith.
- Enlarge Your Vision
[Self-Improvement:Positive-Attitude] Millions are stuck in a job they hate, making just enough that they think they can't afford to start at the bottom in something else. They don't realize they are cementing themselves in the rut they are in with their attitude. You cannot improve your lot in life by tolerating what you despise. You have to make a plan to use your passion that you have a talent for. Enlarge your vision to see what's holding you back and how to get out of your rut.
- Get On with Your LIfe
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Losing a job or finding a better one can be one of the most trying times in life. We often get so tied up with our own job and problems that we forget they are a tiny part of the world. Before we improve in our lot in life we need to make room for it in our thinking. There is life after our job or the one we lost. Many limit how far we can go in life with our lack of vision.
- The Fuel for Creative Vigor
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] Sometimes your projects fail to get off the ground because you lack proper motivation. How do you get out of foul moods and fire up your desire? What is it that drives our creative vigor? The fuel of creative vigor is enthusiasm. How do we get it going? We have turn our imagination loose as we reach for the stars.
- Super Powers
[Self-Improvement:Inspirational] People fail to achieve the level of success they desire because they do not see themselves talented enough. They see those at the top of their field as super powers. Everyone has special gifts from their Creator that most others don't. It is just a matter of finding an occupation that takes advantage of one's strengths and doesn't require abilities they don't have. Before that can be done they must believe in themselves.
- Projecting Your Image
[Internet-and-Businesses-Online:Ecommerce] The most important thing may not be your copy. If you don't project the right image the best copy in the world may not work for you.
You will be seen as you see yourself. When you feel confident you will be seen as successful. If you don't feel like a winner, how can you convince your prospect? Decide what image you want to project and have a plan for getting it accross.
- What Do You Want From Life?
[Business:Careers-Employment] People fail to have a fullfilling life because they don't act on their passions. Many never find a job that matches their talents because they don't demand what they want from life. They never decide what they really want to do and are stuck in a dead-end
job
- Dealing With Failure
[Business] Failure has a devastating effect on people who are easily discouraged. This is not something that you should be ashamed about. You are a failure only when you quit trying. Those with big successes usually had a few a failures along the way. Failing doesn't mean failure; it just indicates that you need
to keep trying.
