I am not a vet but have learnt a lot over the last 4 months about dealing with my Great Dane's damaged tail. Sam damaged his tail tearing around the house chasing his sister Izzie, he probably caught it on the edge of the radiator. At first it was a small graze about 1/2 inch long but he would not stop licking it and banging it on cupboards, fridge, chair and table legs so it became infected.
