  • Thule Spare Me Spare Tire Bike Rack
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] When you start bicycling usually you begin by your home. But when you get more serious about biking you might want to ride in different areas. That means you will probably need to get a bike rack for your vehicle to open up your bicycling opportunities.

  • 2006 Giant Anthem 2 Mountain Bike Review
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] Close to the end of summer 2008 I bought a used bicycle. The bike I choose was a 2006 Giant Anthem 2 and I rode it as often as I could before it started to snow. Now that spring is coming I thought it would be a good time to review the Giant Anthem 2 for anyone out there that might be in the market for a really good used mountain bike.

  • Buying Used Bicycles on Craigslist
[Shopping-and-Product-Reviews] I have discovered (as many other people have) a way to buy used bikes at a huge discount. Late last summer (Summer of 2008) I found a bike on Craigslist. It was a 2006 model that had barely been used and looked perfect.

  • Pearl Izumi Lobster Gloves
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] When the weather starts to get cold and you want to continue riding your bicycle, you need to think about how you are going to stay warm. And I keep my hands warm with "Pearl Izumi Lobster Gloves". One of my friends recommend them to me because he had a pair for many years and really liked them.

  • Nite Rider MiNewt X2 Dual LED Bicycle Lights
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] I have talked about the importance of having Bicycle Lights in other articles. Now I'm reviewing the lights that I have been using for the last two winters, the Nite Rider MiNewt X2 Dual LED Bicycle Lights. Before I had these lights I would ride my bicycle on trails with no lights at all.

  • 2008 Specialized Hardrock XC Disc
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] When I started bicycling in the middle of the summer of 2007 I only had one bicycle. It was the bicycle my parents bought me when I was 14 or 15 years old. A Schwinn Traveler.

  • How to Ride Your Bicycle on Icy Trails
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] Three things I need to emphasize before writing anything else on this subject. Number one, do not ride your bicycle if the conditions are not safe. And number two the best way to ride your bicycle on ice is with studded tires that are in good condition.

  • Cateye Micro Wireless Cycling Computer
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] After I started bicycling in the middle of the summer of 2007 the very first accessory I bought for my bike was a cycling computer, aka speedometer. I didn't do as much research as I should have. I went to you local bike shop and made my decision right then and there. I bought the Cateye Micro Wireless Cycling Computer (Part number CC - MC100W).

  • Two Things You Can Do to Get More Sleep
[Health-and-Fitness:Sleep-Snoring] There are several things you can do outside of the bedroom to get more sleep like Exercise. But if your bedroom isn't sleep friendly your fighting a losing battle. It doesn't matter how healthy you are living if you don't get enough sleep.

  • Bicyclists Beware
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] Just about every time I go for a bike ride I think about how motorists don't watch for bicyclist. There is an especially bad area by my house where I ride quite often. There is a trail along a four lane road that I ride and I go against traffic. That means when I get to an intersection and motorists are making a right turn they are looking to their left for oncoming traffic. It never fails, they never look to their right for pedestrians or bicyclists.

  • Setting Up Your Bicycle For Winter Riding
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] For my winter riding I'm using my 2008 Specialized HardRock XC Disc. It is a mountain bike but I bought it to ride on paved trails during the winter. It doesn't take long to figure out that you need more than just a bicycle to ride during the winter.

  • Spicy Chili - Super Easy
[Food-and-Drink:Recipes] I came up with this recipe a year or two out of High School. I was living with 2 friends in St. Cloud in a small apartment.

  • Studded Bicycle Snow Tires
[Recreation-and-Sports:Cycling] Last Christmas (2007) my parents bought me Studded Snow Tires (Innova Studded Winter Tire - 26 inch X 1.9 inch with 104 studs) for my Mountain Bike. These tires worked great at first. With the extra aggressive tread pattern and the metal studs I felt very confident biking on snow covered trails. Even though the tires worked great for most situations they didn't work if there was ice under the snow. I did crash a couple of times because of this but I didn't get hurt (at least not seriously).
