eBay selling is becoming increasingly popular because you can use the site to sell anything that you want. Sellers are very fond of eBay because they can list products and put them in front of a global audience.
eBay Fees
Many people are put off listing on eBay because of the listing fees and other related fees. However as long as you learn about the eBay selling fees before you start trying to sell anything then you shouldn't be surprised.
When selling on eBay there are two fees that you will need to be aware of. These are the listing fee and an end of auction fee. These are the basic fees that everyone will have to pay, however if you have more advanced features or more photos then you will pay different fees.
The eBay listing fee isn't very popular with people interested in eBay selling however this isn't a major problem. The listing fee actually prevents other people from listing products with a high start price which obviously won't sell. This makes sure that all of the items on eBay are fresh.
This is a bonus for both buyers and sellers on eBay and makes selling on eBay a much more enjoyable experience.
The listing fee is quite small but it does encourage sellers to take time over their listing. If they keep relisting products with a high price or poor description then it won't sell which will end up costing more and more.
End of auction fee
If your auction ends and someone has placed a bid on it then you will have to pay another fee known as the final value fee. eBay will only charge you this fee if your product is sold successfully or you have a reserve which prevented it from selling.
Writing great listings
If you are interested in eBay selling then you will need to concentrate on creating great product listings. The product listing is what the buyers will read to decide whether or not they want to purchase your products.
You must include photos with your product listings because buyers like to see what they are buying. This is still important even if you are selling something that always looks the same. Even if you are selling a games console or a book people really want to see a photo.
If you put photos into your auctions then you stand a much better chance of selling your products. People will use the photo to confirm that they are buying what they really want and to make sure that you really have the product there.
You can take more than one photo if you want, but if you decide to do this and want to list them all at eBay then you will be expected to pay slightly more for the privilege.
The photos should be accurate and show any flaws with the product. If there are any scratches then let them know and show them in the photo. Too many sellers don't do this because they are worried about it damaging their chances of making money however if you don't tell them now then you are asking for trouble in the future.
