The McDonald's hamburger chain has been credited with helping make more millionaires than any other business. In my opinion eBay cannot be very far behind as they have also provided the opportunity for a number of individuals to reach the magic million figure and beyond.
The question is do you have what it takes to join this select band of people who grabbed the opportunity and built themselves successful online marketing businesses.
In the current financial situation it may not be as easy as it once was but I am sure that there are people out there who have yet to start who will achieve this goal within a few years. There are 5 key factors that could help you join the select band of eBay millionaires:
1. Have a Plan.
There are two things that you do know, were you are now and were you want to be. It is going to be a hard journey and you need to understand the route you will have to take. Spend time drawing up a detailed plan, setting time scales and setting targets along the way. There will be times when you will have to deviate from your plan but you should always be aiming at your ultimate goal.
2. Stay Focused
Along the route there will be temptations to take your eye off of your target. Gurus will send you e-mails promising you untold riches if you abandon what you are doing and buy their new guide or system. You will have to make some sacrifices, watch less TV, go out with friends less often but it those who can stay focused who reach their goals.
3. Watch the Figures
Successful businesses watch their finances very closely; you need to know the profits you are making on each sale. Some products are going to prove more profitable than others and you need to keep a close eye on the relationship between costs and income. As silly as it may seem many eBay sellers have any true idea of the true profit figure they make from individual sales.
4. Study Your Competition
You are bound to have competitors selling similar products to you. Look for who appears to be the most successful and see how they run their business. This is very important because you are going to want to do the same as they are only better. Your aim should always to be better than your current best competitor.
5. Look for other outlets.
Although your business may be mainly selling on eBay this does not mean that you should not look at other opportunities. Other online auction sites could offer an opportunity to increase your turnover. Setting up a web site and building up a list of customers will also help you reach your goal faster.
In summary successful entrepreneurs are single minded and have a very good idea of what they want and how they intend to get it. If you want to be the next eBay millionaire you are going to have to adopt a similar approach. Good Luck
