Breast augmentation massage is a requirement for women post breast surgery. When a woman undergoes breast augmentation, the scar tissues will eventually form around the area where the implants were placed. Sometimes, those tissues tighten which makes the breasts feel harder from the outside. When this happens, another surgery may be done in order to soften the tightened scar tissue.

In order to prevent this from happening, some doctors recommend massaging the breasts in order to keep them soft and looking natural. This is usually done by trying to move the implant around the scar tissue.

There are two common ways in massaging the breasts after the operation. One is by compressing them and the other is by displacing them.

But massaging isn't always advised when one undergoes breast augmentation. This is especially the case if the woman has textured implants, massaging the breasts are a big no-no at least during the time of recovery. Since textured implants work on a different principle than smooth ones, moving them too early in the recovery process may cause undesired results.

Regardless of the type of implant chosen by a woman, it is strongly advised that she seek her surgeon's advice before attempting to massage her augmented breasts. There are surgeons who advise against doing this and other implant manufacturers do so too for safety reasons. Or if the surgeon recommends massaging the breasts, they can give a woman the proper advice on how to do it correctly. Doing it the right way ensures that the implant will work as intended and without any unsavory results which may lead to a corrective surgery.
