A Zealot rush in Starcraft 2 works much the same way as it did back in the original. However, there are new foes to watch out for when you send mass units into an opponent's base. It only gets more complex with each attack as your opponent will begin figuring out what you are up to and how to counter it. For that reason, make sure you follow some of these guidelines for Zealot rush in Starcraft 2 to keep yourself safe and victorious.
First off, make your first wave quick and light, preferably 4 to 6 Zealots at a time. This force will merely serve as breaking in the opponent to the next few waves of attack. If you are successful at entering your opponent's base, you can shut down his mineral line and then provide support later on with more and more Zealots to finally finish your opponent off.
Next, make sure you know what race you are playing against with effective scouting. Scout your opponent before launching a Zealot rush in Starcraft 2 because if you do not scout, you may end up fighting against an unwanted foe. Terran are particularly good at deflecting a Zealot rush as they can quickly and efficiently block up their base, making it difficult for melee units to attack.
Finally, once you are in an opponent's base and have started taking him out, make sure you upgrade your Zealots! If your opponent decides to use upgrades on infantry forces that slow you down or speed up his units, give your Zealots a charge ability that will help even the odds. This will keep your opponent from retaliating effectively when you Zealot rush.
