Why do you come into marriage relationship?
To some, it is one of those things every mature man or woman does. To some, it is a means of quitting the lonely life-style.
What are your expectations in marriage? In a lawful marriage, you can derive many benefits.
Do you want the deeper and more meaningful things in life? Think about trust. You spouse stand a better chance to be trusted and provide a cushion from the lack of trust in the society.
Do you need to respect? This is what the goodly married union ought to offer. There is room for praise and admiration of the people around you when you hold your marriage in a high esteem. The woman that fears the Lord shall be praised. With the fear of God, you will possess wisdom to keep you marriage. Your loyal friends will appreciate you as you add value to them through your exemplary marriage life.
A Godly and goodly home will create a great avenue for comfort and security from the harsh environment. There is prestige and popularity in the society that you raise a community to emulate. Your children will adore you for not making their lives chattered as they will be fathered and mothered in a responsible way altogether.
What else? There is overall success. You know, there are things you cannot buy with money but with a marriage based on good solid foundation, you will be treated like a king/queen.
The fact remains, divorce will create a vacuum. Avoid it! Pull your spouse back if he/she has bolted out or may be about to.
"A good marriage is when you're married not to someone you can live with, but to someone you really cannot live without."
-- Dr. Howard Hendricks
There is strength in conformity. However, you need to have wisdom to know when you need to stand-alone. Such a case is very rare. When you believe in yourself, you will have self-esteem and that will increase your ability to believe your spouse.
To do everything on your own without your spouse can destroy your marriage and your future. Yes, you may have the point. Be flexible; do not be self-strong-willed. You have to accept your wife/husband suggestions. It has some power for upward growth of the family.
You need each other at all times. You should be neither too slow nor too fast for him/her. If you are married to an achiever, you have no choice than to move in a high gear to the top with him, otherwise, he/she will leave you behind. You agree with me that two people moving together towards the same goal will get there faster and better. That is the power of teamwork! It takes such a little bit of consideration to create harmony on the team. The results are well worth of it.
The expression of your heart felt love to your wife/husband could go a long way to add value to you marriage. Tell him/her how you feel about his/her company each time you are together. Sometimes, the little inexpensive acts of love you show will keep the spark of your romance lives a glow.
One of the legacies parents leave for children is to set a good example. You expect a moral code of conduct from them, set it first! Show love to each other as spouse for them to see. When they see it practically demonstrated, they can easily act it. Be loyal to him/her and it will go round the entire family.
Sometimes, there may be arguments and differences. It is better to resolve it amicably than to avoid it. It can cause more damage to your relationship. Make a happy home through a happy marriage life for a better family.
Wishing you a lasting marriage.
