The aging process is natural and as a result we are faced with many changes in our bodies. One of these unfortunate changes is known as spider veins. They are little clusters of veins that can be seen around the ankles, behind your knees and on your thighs. This medical condition has no affects on your overall health.
At first thought you are thankful that they are not a serious problem. And then reality sets in that you realize that you need to deal with this physical change. There are things that you can do, but first let's take a look at the cause of spider veins.
The exact causes are still unknown but they are believed to be directly related to poor circulation. Being overweight can also put excessive pressure on your legs which is thought to be another cause of spider, or varicose, veins.
There are various methods to prevent spider veins. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the first and most important method. Some additional methods consist of keeping the blood flowing with simple exercising if your job demands prolonged sitting or standing.
Unfortunately prevention isn't always an option. You spent your days unaware of the results from your daily life and as a result you already have visible veins on your legs. You can easily learn more online about the array of treatment options that will hide, reduce and eliminate these veins. It is always a good idea to learn more before talking with a medical professional.
One of the most popular treatments is laser treatments. The small bursts of light will help to eliminate the blocked veins known as spider veins. Scelerotherapy is a chemical injection. These simple injections will help to reduce the visibility of the veins. Electrical treatments are one of the last forms and it will coagulate the blood. You can also find many at-home lotions and creams that can help to reduce the visibility as well. This is often an option for prevention and less noticeable cases.
As with any type of treatment there are always downsides. There is a good chance that the spider veins will return after any one of these treatments if you do not change your lifestyle. Prevention is going to be your best form of attack against ever dealing with this problem again. All you need to do is follow the following - start eating healthier foods, improving your bloods circulation through any form of exercise mostly for your legs. Leg exercises include walking or running. Laps in the pool will be efficient as well.

Eating healthier foods will not only help to reduce the risks of spider veins, thereby avoiding the need for spider vein treatment, but it will also improve your overall health. Adding in a good exercise program will only increase your chances of reducing the risks even further by increasing the blood flow through your entire body including to your legs. You can find many easy to follow programs for both your diet and exercise. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ben_Pate |
