You Can Get Pregnant After Miscarriage - 5 Powerful Tips

There are few things more horrible in life than having a miscarriage. I know, because I had three miscarriages prior to giving birth to my daughters. The day I was diagnosed with "imminent miscarriage" I was sent home to wait for the process to begin. As I walked out of the doctor's office, I felt as if the patients in the waiting room could see through to my soul.

If you are experiencing similar pain, I want you to know that there is light after the awful darkness. You absolutely can get pregnant after miscarriage, even multiple miscarriages. There may be some serious steps that you need to take in order to get there but you definitely can get there and be stronger for it.

The most important factor in getting pregnant after a miscarriage is getting your body healthy and strong. Quite frankly, it is THE key. Without a strong and healthy body, you will simply be too weak - emotionally and physically - to bring forth new life.

This is work, meaning you have to commit yourself to making changes in how you think, how you eat and how you move. You have to stick to these changes every day but you will be rewarded for your efforts, even if it is just by having more energy and a calm approach to your day.

1. Be Your Own Cheerleader

You have probably heard the term, "mind over matter." This statement rings true for many people who believe we become what we think and, more importantly, what we actively fear.

If you fear miscarriage, you tell your body that you do not have faith in its ability to carry a pregnancy. Instead, think the opposite. Tell yourself, "I am strong and healthy and I am ready to carry a child to term."

Write a positive and reassuring phrase on a sticky note and pop it on your bathroom mirror. Say your words out loud to yourself while looking into the mirror. Do this every day and you will quickly reprogram your way of thinking.

2. Eliminate the Noise

How much noise do you have in your head? Is your mind constantly working? If you're not sure try this short exercise. Find a completely quiet spot, even if it means sitting in a closet with the door closed. Sit quietly and try not to think about anything. Really. Think of nothing. Try not to think about what you plan to make for dinner or the drama at work or that annoying thing your best friend did today. Just be still.

How long can you go? Were you lucky enough to have a few seconds of absolute calm? Yes, it is hard for all of us to truly be still but you would be amazed at how calm those fleeting moments of stillness can be. That is exactly what your soul needs; stillness. It is in these moments of quiet that healing can begin.

Do this exercise tomorrow, and the next day. Add more time and see how long you can go. After a few days you will find a new sense of calm and peacefulness to your thinking. You may even find those quiet moments in places of absolute noise, like in the subway. When that happens, you will know you have succeeded.

3. Eat to Create

Your goal is to create a new person, right? That means you need to have a stockpile of nutrients that the baby can feed on. You also need to nourish yourself so your body can work efficiently and with elegant power. Getting pregnant - and staying pregnant - is an incredible feat that requires equal participation from your blood, bones, muscles, organs and brain. You also need the cooperation from hormones and your central nervous system. If any one of these components under-performs, the rest of your system will be taxed.

The best way to nourish yourself is to eat as much fresh fruit and vegetables as you can, supplement with good-quality vitamins and drink water. Eliminate sugars and simple carbohydrates as much as you are able. Get calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium from food first, and supplement if needed. You may heard this from numerous sources like commercials and magazines but it really is true. The better quality food you eat the stronger your body will be. It can be a difficult proposition because of the temptations of our fast-food society but remind yourself of your goal as you avoid the drive-through lane.

4. Get Up and Move

"The more you move the longer you will live," say some doctors. Many researchers claim there is a direct correlation to the amount of daily exercise a person gets and how long they can expect to live. Your goal is not simply to live long but to be pregnant. That requires strength.

A pregnant woman will experience many changes in her body: her hips will expand, her blood volume will increase, her heart will pump harder and her skin will stretch. You must, must, must be strong!

Do a variety of daily exercises. This is an important strategy called "muscle confusion." When your exercise routine is varied, the muscles you are exercising are unlikely to become lazy and anticipate the next movement. Change up your exercise routine by walking one day, stretching the next, swimming another day or doing an elliptical workout another day.

It does not matter what exercise you do, just do something every day. The more variety you introduce to your body's routine, the more you challenge your body. You will also stretch and lubricate tendons and ligaments that must be flexible enough to sustain a pregnancy.

5. Invite Your Faith

This will become a sort of spiritual practice for you, and you can also add your own faith-based practice to make it even more powerful. If you are a praying person, add a daily prayer to your routine. If your spiritual practice is doing service for others, do something kind for someone once a week. If you worship in a church, synagogue, mosque or other sacred place, go there once a week. Call upon your higher authority or higher self to join you on this mission. It seems obvious but too often we simply forget to ask.

Putting it all Together

Doing any one of these four things would be a great start but doing all five will give you incredible power and strength of soul to meet your goal of getting pregnant. I know because I sought the help of an incredible healer who taught me these things and I finally got pregnant. This absolutely does work.

I now use these tips to help me stay healthy as I travel the physically and emotional path of motherhood. You will need to be strong long after you have your baby and I hope this wisdom will help you throughout your journey.
