If you are the proud owner of a Yorkshire terrier, you already know they can be very possessive of their owners. In fact, your Yorkie may want your undivided attention at all times. This can be problematic if you have other pets in your home.

I have solved this by having some alone time with each of my three dogs. This may sound a little bit far-fetched, but it works extremely well. Just as with children, each of your dogs deserves to be the center of attention for at least a few minutes every day.

In the morning I let all three dogs go outside. When we come back in, I take one of the dogs back upstairs with me for about fifteen minutes. I tell him what a wonderful dog he is and allow him to cuddle with me in the bed. He jumps up and down and wags his tail in delight. 

Then I take him downstairs and go for a walk with another one of my yorkies. She loves to walk just with me, even if it is only for ten minutes or so. Later on in the evening I spend time with the third dog. It is a joy for me to have my Yorkshire terriers as pets, so spending some time with each one of them is my way of thanking them for their companionship.

Think about how you can incorporate this idea into your daily routine. You will find that each of your dogs will become happier, and you will enjoy spending some time with just one dog at a time.
