Yeast Infection Symptoms

Every human has candida in their body as newborns and lives in perfect harmony most of the time. Once the scales of balance are off, yeast can turn into a destructive and dangerous invader.

What Are the Symptoms?

Candida is simply an overgrowth of yeast, usually in the intestinal tract and other tissues of the body. For most of us yeast lives in our bodies without causing any problems. We have almost three pounds of friendly bacteria living in our intestines to help keep our system in check. The friendly bacteria help our bodies maintain a delicate balance between the good bacteria and the yeast. When this balance is upset with antibiotics, a stressful lifestyle, eating too much sugar and highly processed foods, this causes an overgrowth of yeast to occur. Yeast can also overgrow in the GI tract, causing heartburn, indigestion, abdominal bloating, cramps, constipation or diarrhea, nausea and gas.

Not only does yeast produce these troubling symptoms, but it also drains the minerals, increases free radical formation and breaks up the enzymes needed to produce energy for the body. So you can see that once yeast invades the body, it starts wreaking havoc wherever it goes.

If yeast is given enough time, an invasion can start in the bloodstream and spread to the organs or tissue in the body. Once the organ in your body is affected, candida symptoms begin to occur. For instance, as candida affects the nervous system, you may begin to experience fatigue, memory loss, depression and mood swings.

Left unchecked, candida overgrowth can creep through your entire body like a tidal wave. Before long every organ can be affected. If your body is under a yeast attack, you may feel extremely tired much of the time. Yeast can often affect the endocrine system, causing adrenal exhaustion and chronic fatigue. Thyroid problems can also be related to yeast overgrowth in the body and you should consult a doctor for testing. Skin problems such as eczema, hives, psoriasis and acne may also develop. Food allergies and food sensitivities may begin to surface as well.

To effectively overcome candida you need to be aware of the real cause of this condition and be able to identify its symptoms. By educating yourself about candida you will help your body to heal from the inside out, you can and will eliminate the symptoms associated with this condition and feel more in control.
