Xbox users everywhere are either struggling with the same issue or know someone who is.  Microsoft has been overwhelmed over the last few years with customer concerns and complaints, as everyone wants to know about the Xbox 360 ring of death fix.

The red ring of death means that your Xbox is flashing lights on the front console.  The number of lights flashing can mean a different problem.  In the end you might still have to make a service call, but let's look at some other options first!

One flashing light can be a cable issue, so have a peek and make sure they are connected properly.  If a code is flashing on your TV you will need to give it to customer service.  When two light are flashing it could be a simple over heating problem. 

Let your system cool for a few hours before trying it again.  Always make sure your Xbox is in a well ventilated area and let it have a break from time to time! (For those of you who play ALL day!)

When your system is flashing three lights it could be a hardware problem or it could be a power supply issue.  Take a look at the light on your power box. 

If it is orange, red or not on it might be an issue.  Change outlets and if that doesn't work you might need a new power box.  If four lights are flashing it might just be a power surge.  So unplug your box and re plug it back.
