Writing an eBay Description That Sells

It amazes me how many times I look at peoples items on eBay and they don't describe the item properly or have on e line like "I don't accept refunds" I feel like writing to them I bet they don't have any sales to refund either.

Benefits sell

It's madness, selling on eBay is just like selling in real life you have to tell people about the item, tell them its benefits and why they should buy it. You should not under any circumstance write "I'm selling because I want money" it may be true but what does that tell the person about the item? Nothing that's what it tells them.

Interesting Layout

Something else that you should then take into mind is the layout of your listing. You want to describe your item but you don't want the potential customer to get bored and click the back button, for this reason you should keep your paragraphs small and informative.

Using bold titles, different sizes for text in the headlines and even different font colours allows you to create an environment where the customer will happily read on. The use of bullet points is also an excellent method of highlighting the best parts of a product without being uninteresting.

Spell Check

Spell check your listing. This doesn't take too much effort because eBay have an automatic spell checker built into their listing software. Having spelling mistakes all around the place can cause confusion and general annoyance, getting rid of this confusion is only going to help your conversion rates.

One of the most important things when it comes to selling on eBay is the presentation of your item. Just by presenting my item better than my competition I know that my item is not only going to sell but it's also going to sell for more than my competition is selling their product.
