Writing Articles - What a Good Article Contains

Expert Author Lugene Brantley

Imagine how successful your advertising campaign would be without a great compelling headline!  It for sure would not seize the attention of many people. A headline should be created with eye catching words. The purpose of the headline is to attract the viewer's attention at first glance.

If I was advertising furniture or more specific beds I would say, "Best pillow top mattress available so that you don't have to use a ladder to get in bed". That is a joke, not serious. Senior citizens don't need beds so high they can't get in them without a step ladder.

Assess the needs of your customers and create a very compelling headline. For ideas just observe the billboards advertising.

Your headline should say it all. Eye catching content works wonders. The purpose of the advertisement is to sell your product. Just remember the instant product seller is your headline.

Research reveals that five times more readers only read the caption compared to those who read the complete ad.

So, you are apparently flushing money down the drain if the title isn't created with enough pull to sell the product.

Consider that if you want people to read your article your title should be formed in such a way that the viewer feels as though he is being directly addressed.

For example - 'Are your traffic click throughs decreasing? Then read my book, it presents a plan on how to explode your online traffic.' People are interested in 'what does it offer me?

Benefits are the all important quality of a well crafted headline.  When a customer shops he or she looks for products that have the solutions and benefits wherein they can profit.

Your headline should emit a positive feeling to your reader.  Anything that creates a negative thought should never be included in a headline.

Confidence and trust in your product should be reflected in your title.  Avoid all negative expressions as they will confuse the meaning of the message or headline. The title should always be made in the present tense.
