I have no idea about what to write. May I ask some advice? What would you recommend to do for a newbie?

These are real questions that I read and answered in a forum for affiliate marketers which I belong to. I have read questions similar to these many times.

When new online marketers are finding out that they need to write articles for the promotion of their products, they are getting anxious about what to write and how to write it.

Is there a recipe for writing articles?

There isn't just one way to write articles, but the basis are always the same.

1) Find your subject (your niche).
2) Learn as much as you can about the product you want to write about.
3) Let this knowledge simmer into your mind.
4) Write only when you feel the burst to write, so you won't stare at the blank page.

When you are ready to write, just write as your thoughts flow through your mind. Don't stop just to correct little mistakes. This will only kill your thread of thoughts. Pick one of the features of your product and just write about it in simple words, short sentences and short paragraphs. This will help you to create a clear and easy to read article. Long paragraphs with no ending sentences are article killers that no one wants to read.

It's good to mention different steps or points in your article. Number each point in a 1, 2, 3... fashion or use bullet points. This technique is great to catch the attention of the scanners. A lot of people who read online articles are more scanners than they are readers. Once you have caught their attention with your bullet point sentences, they may get really interested and actually READ your article.

And last but not least, the best way to improve your article writing is to practice. Nothing will improve about your writing if you don't write. Taking in knowledge, is definitely very important and will carry you through your article as you write, but the practice of writing will make you a better writer.

A tennis player's game would get rusty if the player didn't practice regularly. The more he practices, the better his game gets, regardless of how much he knows about tennis. It's exactly the same thing with your writing. Learn as much as you can about your subject, and then practice, practice, and practice some more.
