There are so many people who make money by writing articles for online and offline publications. However, not all of them are getting the same numbers on their paychecks. While others are making at least $7,000 per month, there are those who are making as little as $100 per week.

The difference usually lies on their asking price. Right now, the ongoing rate of most writers is $5/article that will not exceed 500 words. Let say these writers can comfortably finish 5 articles per day. That means, they'll make around $500-$750 per month. If writing is what you do to earn a living, this might not be enough, right?

So, I suggest that you increase your asking price. However, keep in mind that you can only do this if you're considered one of the best writers in the online or offline arena. You can make up to $400/article if you write for offline publications like popular magazines. What you can do is send your online portfolio to editors and publishers.

Convince them that you've got what it takes to offer them great content. If you're lucky and if you make the cut, they'll ask you to write 2 $400 articles per week. That means, you'll easily make $800 in just 7 days. These expensive articles need thorough research and depending on your skill level, I am guessing that you can finish one article in 2-3 days.

However, be reminded that $400/article projects do not come everyday. If you rely on your writing to earn a living, it's a good idea if you keep those $5/article projects.
