As work from home business owners, we must constantly watch our keywords, even for established websites. The way people search for information is always changing. So we must keep checking the analytics on our website, and delete keywords that are not pulling traffic to our website and adding new keywords that are getting traffic.

By keeping an eye on new keywords, we may also find new markets within our niche to exploit. People tend change the keywords they use to find information about every six months, so there could be new markets out there. If you are the first to find one these markets, before other Internet marketers, you could make some good money.

Now, it is time for action with some Search Engine Optimization. Be sure to add new pages to your website for your new keywords. Make sure that the content on these pages are optimized. Then build backlinks to these pages, both internal and external links.

Next, you must monitor the response trends for your new keywords. Give your search engine optimization efforts some time to work. If they are not bring the traffic to your website that you think they should, then delete them and try some different keywords.

Another thing you could do, is a one of your keywords to your title. This should help with getting your website ranked on one of the search engines. I know this will work. I added one of my keywords to my title and went from no ranking for any keyword, to a number 3 ranking within 2 weeks for the new keyword. And now my main keyword is starting to get better ranking now. This may not work for everyone, but it can be done.

As work from home business owners, we need to monitor our keywords constantly. If we are not getting the traffic or ranking on search engine, we need to make changes. If our visitors can not find us, they will surely find one of our competitors.
