The town of Woodbridge - Suffolk is located in the county of Suffolk in England. The town rests on the side of the River Deben. The town has a population of approximately seven thousand, four hundred and eighty people. The town boasts the industry of boat building, rope and sail making. This industry has gone on since the Middle Ages. Edward III and Sir Francis Drake had fighting ships in the Elizabethan era made here.

Presently the town has a working tide mill that has been there since 1170. This is one of two working tide mills in the United Kingdom. This is recorded as the earliest one in history. The water wheel still turns and it is open for public viewing. It is housed in a three story building.

In 1980, mysterious lights were seen in the sky over Rendlesham Forest near Woodbridge. These lights were close to the RAF Woodbridge, a United States Airforce base. Reports state that an unidentified flying object landed in the Rendlesham Forest. This incident is still quite a debate and is thought of as Britian's version of Roswell.

Woodbridge offers the oldest brass band in East Anglia. This band, the Woodbridge Excelsior band was formed in 1946. During the Christmas season, the band is often seen about Woodbridge playing Christmas music. They can be hired for events also.

There is a museum devoted to the Suffolk Punch. This type of horse is a heavy working breed. This horse is mainly used for work on farms but had been used to pull heavy artillery in wartime. The museum is in honor of this most hard working animal.

If visiting Woodbridge for the tide mill or horse museum, there are many accommodations for the traveler. Bed and breakfasts are numerous as well as a larger chain hotel. They are reasonably priced and appear to offer quite a few amenities.

Visiting the town of Woodbridge would be quite interesting for the tourist. There are many different things to do such as visit the Suffolk Punch museum or the tide mill. UFO enthusiasts can even drive near the Rendlesham Forest to see if they can encounter their own extraterrestrial moment.
