Stick-to-it-ness, perseverance, and never giving up is the advice given over and over again, generation after generation and one of the most important attributes for success. Have you ever stopped to consider why? Not long ago, I was indeed having this conversation with someone and he mentioned Thomas Edison as an example in history of when perseverance paid off and how if he had quit, he would have never won. Good point and I added some of my own comments to his;
Indeed, there are numerous examples in history and "discovering 1,000 ways not to make a light bulb" or finding "1,000 people not willing to invest in a chicken recipe" or having a political life of utter failure until one day becoming the President of the US who saved the union - is a great reason to side with the "Quitters never win, and winners never quit" principle.
It appears that perseverance is paramount to propelling profits and success. It hardly matters what you are doing. Not long ago, I read an interesting article that explained that "Hanging Tough" turned out to be twice as important as intelligent when it came to winning, career success, or profits in a business. This shouldn't surprise anyone, it's practically a universal truth. Nevertheless, the academic study looked at 1,000 successful people, and the empirical data showed what most of us already know.
Now then, what if you have both? That is to say what if you have an extremely high IQ and a "will" that just won't allow you to quit? Well, then your chances for success in life are almost guaranteed over time, that is in the long-haul. So please consider that.
