There is nothing better than that feeling of complete elation when your examiner turns to you after 45 minutes of pure unadulterated hell and informs you that you have, in fact, past your driving test. The last think most people want to do is to get back in the car with their instructor and have more lessons. But imagine being able to save up to a massive 40% on your insurance.

The Pass Plus is a Driving Standards Agency (DSA) course that is run by a large selection of advanced driving schools, it is a means for new and in-experienced drivers to gain confidence and become safer and more aware drivers. The course is split up into 6 practical modules which are marked on a continual assessment basis, yes, you read right, no test at the end.

Some of the modules covered are:

  • Town Driving,
  • All Weather Driving,
  • Night Driving,
  • Driving on Rural Roads,
  • Dual Carriageway Driving,
  • Motorway Driving.

Some of the sections are done on a theory basis if it can't be done practically.

As mentioned before, pass plus tuition is available through advanced driving schools. This does not necessarily mean that you will need a different instructor. The fees for the course are not regulated by the DSA so the actual cost will very depending on area and school although it is usually a little more per hour as your regular driving lessons.

The certificate is recognized by most insurers and whilst not essential, it is a desrible step on the massive learning curve associated with driving.

Pass Plus Tuition is offered by Glan Conwy School of Motoring, an advanced driving school based in North Wales.
