When you transcend the idea that rules in a game inconvenience players, you quickly realize that there are a few you can use to your advantage. For example, let's look at getting banned and see it in terms of its advantages.
A banned account has a crop consumption of 0. This means that if you are in negative crop-consumption in one of your villages and it doesn't have any crop left in it (i.e. your troops are currently starving), getting a ban will immediately put an end to starving troops. So the next time you're REALLY low on crop or have an extra 15,000 troops to store somewhere, consider getting them into a banned account. Now you can't reinforce a banned village, just like you can't attack it. But you can send troops to that village, and then get the account banned.
Another idea you can take advantage of bans is by considering your virtually untouchable state. An account that cannot be attacked by enemy troops is invincible. This means that if you need to take a 1 week Travian break, or you're planning on taking a vacation and there are no suitable sitters to watch over things: you don't need to.
Instead just send a foul mouthed message to 5 members. I guarantee you one of them report you and boom! Make sure you communicate with the Multi-Hunter (in game moderator found at coordinates (0,0)) and ask a question like "why was I banned?" to show him/her that you're a real person... and in fact have no clue about what's going on.
