Why Should You Learn The Guitar?

Expert Author Arina Sizemore

I don't know about you, but I always loved hearing people play the guitar. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I was exposed to it as a child? My dad had one, and once in a while he would bring it out and bust out a few tunes. One thing I've noticed though, is that when a person starts playing the guitar in a party, or out camping, his or her cool status shoots right up. Isn't that funny? Why is that? I mean you always see these guys that are in the band, with gorgeous girls fighting over them all the time! If you were just to see him walking down the street, you wouldn't even give him a second glance, but put a guitar in his hands, and he becomes super Hot! So what is it about the guitar that people that know how to play it so special?

For some reason I'm always surrounded by people that love music, and most of them play the guitar. When asked why did they decide to play it in the first place, the answer is pretty simple. "I saw my favorite band play and wanted to be like them", is the typical answer. Now if you're starting to dig deeper, most of them would admit, it wasn't so much as the music they loved, although that was a part of it, but the attention that the band would get. There, I said it. Most people want to learn the guitar, because they saw a bunch of screaming girls at a concert, and that's what they wanted. They want and crave that attention. And can you blame them. Who wouldn't want to be adored? And if you're a guy, how can you possibly deny the fact, that you would love to have a bunch of pretty girls fighting over you? It's human nature. Everyone wants to be desired, and that's what the guitar provides. It's that simple.
