Running can also be an effective way to handle stress and things that once seemed a chore can be taken in your stride. Running regularly with folks that share the same goals is great and can help a great deal in encouraging you, especially when you meet some hurdles in your ongoing running experience. Joining a local running club is a great way to meet like-minded people.
