Chances are, you've been prescribed or recommended a whole slew of cures for acne, yet it just doesn't seem to want to go away! Luckily, it is possible to clear your skin up, and it can be done in days, not months.

Usually, when you go to the dermatologist for acne, he or she prescribes you a broad antibiotic and some kind of topical cream. You follow their directions, and maybe for a few days your acne is reduced...but then it comes back, and with a vengeance.

It happens all the time. While the topical cream might contain a few things that actually work, it's treating your skin condition as if it were just that: a condition. At first, the antibiotic reduces the acne bacteria, just like the doctor said it would. This reduces your skin irritation somewhat, but at the same time it's reducing the level of good bacteria in your body. Your body needs bacteria to function, and antibiotics indiscriminately kill off both the good and bad bacteria, which is why your skin gets worse after some time on the antibiotic.

The key to making your acne go away for good is to treat the underlying cause of your aggravated skin, which is the slow build-up of (for lack of a better word) junk in your body. Ever noticed how teenagers tend to have the worst skin? Think about what the average teenager's diet consists of. All of that mess stays in their body, and causes all kinds of problems, including acne.
