Why Many Fail to Earn From Google AdSense?

There are many ways or medium to choose from in order to monetize your website and one of the most common and used monetization is Google AdSense. Many think specially those who are new in the Web trying to make extra money or trying find a profitable business that earning from AdSense is simply easy. It's true, the process of earning from this advertising program is very simple, no hard selling of products or services, you get paid a commission simply from the click of your visitors. But acquiring those precious clicks is not easy so it seems, and if you want to make extra money or earn decently from this program you need to do a lot of work.

All around the Internet mostly you will hear someone grumbling that his earnings are very low from AdSense; stories coming from forums, blogs or comments. Even some blogging gurus will tell you that they were not successful in using AdSense and recommend highly instead that choose affiliate marketing in monetizing your site. Other internet entrepreneurs will even tell you that other types of monetization should be chosen aside from AdSense not admitting that they failed miserably in this advertising program. So what is the real main reason why many people fail from earning decently from this advertising program?

If you will notice, Google AdSense displays a variety of targeted advertisements depending on the content of webpage where it is located. It uses an algorithm similar when someone searches the Web using a set of keywords or phrase. So when you place the AdSense Code in your site, it scans the content of your site and pulls of advertisements which it thinks is the most relative targeted ads to be shown. Because we say targeted ads it also means we need targeted traffic or visitors in our site in order to increase the chances of earning those precious clicks.

When we say targeted traffic, these are the visitors that visit our site because they need some information which they think we can provide them. This traffic mostly is brought by search engines and websites referring our site because of relevancy of the information we provide. This is where most publishers fail to understand. They think that just by acquiring any kind of traffic, this in return would increase their earnings from AdSense. Traffic coming from social sites or traffic exchanges or traffic from your loyal subscribers or readers will not generate your expected income from AdSense.

Now if you have amassed a great number of loyal readers or subscribers, it is more recommended that you use affiliate marketing or other ways to make extra money other than using Google AdSense. Why, because most of these people are after your content, even if you splatter dozens of ads in your site they would easily find your articles, and disregard most of the ads placed including AdSense. So just by recommending a product or service by writing a post, review or by sending them an email, your readers become your potential customers. Now you know why some blogging gurus are more successful in earning from affiliate marketing.

Earning from Google AdSense is not easy, not only do you need to acquire targeted traffic, you also need to provide useful information and content to your readers. Because you are using the services provided by Google, you also need to follow and adhere to many rules and policies set by Google. Although there are plenty of work involved but once we reach our goals the potential earnings from this program is far more than we could imagine.
