Why Is It Crucial Not To Put All Of Your Marketing Strategies For Your Business In Just One Basket

Traffic generation is the life blood of your online business. Without advertising how will people find your website. As with any business online or offline if people don't know about you and what your store is selling then you have no business.Another point to remember about traffic is to make sure you are using more than one source. Remember the Google slap of 2009? An important phrase to remember is "don't put all your marketing strategies in one basket." If you were around for the Google slap in 2009 than you know what happened to the network marketers who did just that. Many lost there businesses and never recovered. Don't make the same mistake, diversify your marketing strategies. Don't rely on one source for generating leads to your business. That way if one strategy doesn't work for some reason or takes a longer time to generate leads, you have other sources working for you.. With multiple sources of traffic you will always have people viewing your offer. The more people the better the odds are they will buy. Of course there are other factors besides the amount of traffic viewing your offer, such as whether the traffic is targeted to what your offer is, the message from your website through your funnel being congruent and your ability to communicate with potential customers.

So what are some of the marketing strategies to generate traffic to your website?

1) Social Networks:

  • Facebook
  • My Space
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn

These are just a few of them, there are too many to list here. They are considered to be a free way to generate leads but you can also place pay per click ads on Facebook, My Space and Linked in.

2) Content Marketing:

  • Articles
  • Blogging
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Video

These are basically free strategies. They will take more time to generate traffic but the best thing is the long term traffic is Free. The valuable content you put there either through a blog or videos on You Tube never goes away, people will still find your content years from now.

3) Paid Advertising:

  • Banners
  • Ezines
  • Google AdWords
  • Ad Networks
  • On or Offline Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Radio

The great advantage about paid advertising is the result is generally right away. It's all a matter of finding the right sites associated with your target niche and placing your banner or written text ad. You need to certainly research the sites or magazines you want to place advertising on as to cost. You don't want to use all your ad dollars in one place. Start small and scale out your advertising once you find that winning ad or banner to even more places

  • Forums
  • Online Free Classifieds
  • Joint Ventures

There are many ways to generate traffic to your website. The important thing to remember is using a combination of traffic sources. Start by picking one content strategy like blogging and one paid like banners. Once you learn and become proficient at them, only then should starting adding more.
