Why I Love Getting Massage Therapy

My lifestyle is nowhere near relaxed. Being a writer is like all other jobs where both the mind and the body must work hand in hand all the time. My mind needs total focus and my body needs to be in top shape in order to keep that focus. At the end of a work day, I'm somehow totally drained of energy.

One of the common things I encounter after a long day of writing is aches affecting my body. My back hurts from sitting too long in my work station. My arms and fingers also start to cramp because of long hours of typing. Also, a heavy head is often present.

To solve these issues, I make sure I get massages on a regular basis. There are just a lot of things I love about getting a massage. Here are just a few of them:

1. It gives me something to look forward to.

After several days of working and doing regular tasks, I always feel like there's a need for me to recharge. It is the kind of recharging that cannot just be done by a simple eight-hour sleep. It must be something that will release the tension. What better way to do it than to release the tension in my muscles.

2. A massage therapy rejuvenates both the body and the soul.

People have different methods in relaxing. Some do their favorite hobby while some play their favorite sport. Though these are also good options, and they might take their mind of things but it will still drain their energy. Unlike this, a massage can give a two-fold advantage by rejuvenating the body physically while relaxing the mind mentally.

3. It helps provide relief for aches.

As I mentioned earlier, body aches are always present even if I sit all day in front of my computer. After a long day, I can feel the tension in my shoulders and the nape of my neck. My back also frequently aches real badly when I try to move. Though these aches are not really serious, they do disrupt my focus and limit my movement. A great massage therapy session will relieve these unwanted pains in my body.

I see my weekly massage therapy session as a way to escape from the stress that I encounter in my environment. It is a great way to reward myself after a week's workload. Take time to pamper yourself. It will certainly do wonders to your body too.
