Why I Chose Quartz and Not Corian Countertops

It wasn't an easy choice for me deciding between corian and quartz countertops. In the beginning I was comparing quartz vs granite countertops but I decided that I didn't want granite. After looking at many samples of granite I decided I liked the look of both Corian and quartz better than granite.

The main reason that I chose quartz is that corian has little to no resistance to heat. I really like the idea of being able to take a hot tray of cookies right out of the oven and putting them right on the countertops. I do a lot of baking and I have a double oven in the wall so I don't have an area close by to place the trays on. I would have to set out trivets to put all those cookies on. Trivets for eight cookie sheets is a lot of trivets. I don't have to deal with that hassle any more.

When I compared corian vs granite I also realized that I really liked the luster that quartz countertops had. Corian countertops lack that deep and shiny luster that a polished story like quartz can offer. Only natural stones like granite and quartz can be brought to such a beautiful luster.

Having a sanitary and clean kitchen is very important to me. Corian does not stain easily but it is much easier to stain than quartz countertops. Paying thousands of dollars for a new kitchen and having the countertop ruined by something as trivial as a stain would really be disappointing.
