In my opinion we absolutely need weeds they play a very important part in the plant and animal kingdom. Weeds help to feed countless insects, which in turn feed other small and large creatures, such as birds, deer, rabbits, and so forth. Many weeds have been cultivated to give us beautiful wild flowers that are enjoyed by gardener's world wide. More importantly weeds are responsible for pollination which indirectly has a great affect on mankind as we know it. Some weeds are used as food for human consumption such as dandy lions among other weeds.

The question is sometimes asked, do we need weeds! Yes, weeds do. Without weeds much of our rich topsoil would be washed away, leading to land erosion which is very destructive to man and wildlife. Weeds multiply very rapidly to ensure their survival plus anyone or anything else that depends on them. Weeds are responsible for many folk medicines that were used centuries ago, and many old time remedies are still used today in some form or another.

Like it or not weeds are tougher than people, plus they will grow anywhere including water. The need for weeds is apparently important because they grow year round in the forms of summer annuals, perennials, fall annuals, perennials, winter annuals, and perennials. Let's not forget spring as the busiest time of the year for weed production. Weeds aren't mistakes, but planned articles that were induced into our environment. Weeds will be around here on earth forever, even when we are all dead and gone. So we will just have to learn how to deal with them.

Just remember, if the question ever arises as weeds have, do we need weeds? Just answer with a straight face and reply yes we do, because weeds have been responsible for feeding man for many years. A small example, take clover for instance it is generally known as a nuisance in a fine lawn. But farmers love to plant it for the simple reason that clover extracts the blue stuff out of the atmosphere which is known as nitrogen, a main source of plant food that is plowed into the soil to enrich it for proper plant growth. Weeds are found all over the globe and serve within an important eco system for their survival and ours.
