Women over 40 tend to know who they are and what they want. They have suffered through the slings and arrows of life and survived and gained perspective. They typically don't play games and their personal boundaries are better than they were in their twenties.
If they have children, they are likely not to be so concerned with having more. If they have reached menopause, the fear of getting pregnant no longer exists and they can enjoy their sexuality without running to the pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test. Older women tend to know what they want sexually, too and are less inhibited about expressing their needs to a younger man who is eager to please.
But sex isn't the only reason to date a Cougar. A Cougar who is sane and secure in who she is has a lot to offer in terms of life experience and advice. If she if financially secure, she is not so concerned about finding a man who can take care of her. Cougars have a certain joie de vivre that men their age who have been beaten up by life have lost; so they look for a younger companion with whom to have fun.
A Cougar can be a good friend, confidante, mentor and lover to a younger man. She may or may not be seeking a younger man for long term, and she doesn't jump on just any young man with a pulse. She is more selective about the men in her life. She has a right to be. She has earned this selectivity.
Younger men seeking to understand women, learn from them and men who respect women in general are good candidates for dating a Cougar. Men who think that "bagging" a Cougar is an easy way to get laid are usually in for a rude awakening. If a younger man has no game and nothing to offer beyond a six pack abs, then most Cougar women will take a pass in favor of a man they can relate to outside of the bedroom as well.
Dating a Cougar can be a wonderful experience in a younger man's life. I have interviewed hundreds of young men who have very positive things to say about the Cougar women they have dated, and many of them have fallen in love and even married.
