Given any opportunity to go wheelin' or talk wheelin', the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams will do in a second. Whether it is crawling along a cliffs edge, racing through a muddy bog, or even pounding the desert sand dunes. If the Trail Teams can find a trail to travel or a hill to climb they will be there.
Due to popular demand the Teams have decided to create events of their own: Invitationals and Expeditions.
The Invitationals have provided a rare chance for regular folks to bring their own trail-ready Toyotas and join the Toyota Trail Teams on all kinds of off road rides. Even those without a Toyota are invited to come along and wheel in the Teams modified and stock Toyotas. In May, over 220 Toyota owners attacked the jagged San Bernadino Mountain Range at the first ever Toyota Trail Teams Invitational in Big Bear. In July another 200 or more dropped in on the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica, Indiana to have their way with some of the most challenging muddy trails ever seen. It was extremely insane off roading action at the Second Trail Teams Invitational party and the next invitational should be no different.
The Invitationals are big off-roading parties, but the Trail Teams Expeditions give Toyota FJ Cruiser drivers a more intimate and remote type of hot wheeling. Usually 8 or more souped us Toyotas are selected for the three to four day adventures. The first East Coast Toyota Expedition just recently completed their trek along North Carolina's Outer Banks. Making their way through sand and swamp, these adventurers experienced nature and wheelin' in a way few others ever will. It was an amazingly run time for everyone involved.
If you are interested in being on a team, there are three teams to choose from - The East Coast, The Central and The West Coast - they all crisscross the country in their Tacomas, FJ Cruisers and Tundras, joining with other Toyota 4x4 enthusiasts from their favorite online hangout spot the FJ Cruiser Forum. The trail teams are for guys with mud in their veins, it's well worth it in order to spend their days hanging and wheelin' with other dedicated off-roaders
Currently, the Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Team can be found rolling down a back U.S. highway on their way to kick butt at another one of America's favorite 4x4 trailheads or any place in the great United States that needs explored by a fun and powerful off roading machine. Wanna come along for the ride? Don't worry the 4x4 community always has room for one more off roader and one more big wheeler.
