There are many reasons why you might want to lose weight. Perhaps you want to fit into a certain outfit for a special occasion. Maybe you want to look better overall. Possibly your doctor has pointed out health problems that you have because you are over weight. Regardless of the reason for wanting to lose weight, you will need to find weight loss motivation to get it done.

Often, the reason for wanting to lose weight is the motivation itself. For example, if your doctor said that you would be dead in a year if you didn't get the weight off that would probably be motivation enough. But if your weight hasn't reached this level of seriousness yet, you may need other ways to keep you excited about losing weight.

You need a support system that you can count on. This support system will talk you through the hard time - when your kid's left over birthday cake is screaming your name from the kitchen. This support system will lend an ear when you need to talk about the emotional impact of dieting. They will tell you when you are looking good, and let you know that they can see that you are losing weight. A good support system is essential.

You can also set small goals designed for weight loss motivation. For example, buy an outfit that is one size too small, and work towards fitting into that outfit. Plan a special event for when you get down to a certain weight. Think about the things that make you happy, and incorporate those things into your motivation strategy to lose weight.
