The online environment is huge and for theĀ uninformed business owner looking to advertise their new website design they have to be extremely careful where they put their advertising dollars.
There are so many directories and websites looking for your business and all are saying very similar things that if you are not making educated choices then more than likely you are going to end up making mistakes and throw hard earned money out the ' online window'. For example I had a prestigious online directory company come into my office and tout their wares throwing all these statistics and charts at me with over inflated analytics of hits to their website.
If I was not in the web design design business I would have been extremely impressed with the presentation and more than likely sign up for a 12 month contract which would have cost me many thousands of dollars. The point I am trying to make here is that this money could have been put to good use elsewhere delivering my business far better online search results.
If you are a business owner really do your home work and due diligence before making any decision about your online advertising. Look carefully at the documentation they give you and perhaps even ask for some referrals or testimonials of businesses in a similar industry. if they are confident of their product they will be more than happy to provide you with this information.
So be warned, its easy to commit to an online advertising campaign but will it deliver the kind of results you are after for your business.
