It is very hard to say where the moral integrity of the United States of America has broken down, but in our society and civilization we find liars and cheaters at every turn. We see politicians on the take, we see corporate executives hijacking companies by putting their friends on the board of directors, we see investment bankers doing insider trading, we see our athletes taking steroids, and we see investment gurus running Ponzi schemes.

We all realize that we have crooked cops, some crooked judges, and lawyers to cheat the system. Where on earth did we go wrong? Have we gone wrong in our schools, as we allow kids to cheat on tests to advance their grades? Many teachers deny this, stating that the real problem is at home, coming from a lack of discipline or respect for authority.

Nevertheless, regardless of where it all comes from we have a problem, and when a community or society allows liars and cheaters to flourish; then eventually that society will be filled with them. Who is to blame for the degradation of human societies, or the drops of integrity at every level of our society? It's hard to say, but we know it is a reality.

Perhaps, we shouldn't just pick on the United States, as for the most part people are fairly honest, everyone gets along, and people still follow the rules most of the time. In other countries it is quite different, and either due to a lack of rules, or lack of enforcement they have greater issues on their hands, but at some point society breaks down. I surely hope that in our society, here in America that never happens, I hope we never get to that point. Indeed, please consider all this.

Lance Winslow is a retired Founder of a Nationwide Franchise Chain, and now runs the Online Think Tank. Lance Winslow believes in integrity, and he is worried about human societies breaking down.
