What would our lives be like if there was no one else in them? It is hard to imagine. Does every person we meet have a purpose in our life? Yes, but some play a bigger role than others (such as our family).

What about the people we meet on the street or who we only interact with for a short period of time? Do these people play a role too? Yes. Bob Scheinfeld explains every person we meet can be categorized into 3 main categories.

The first types of people we meet are those who show up in our lives for the purpose of reflecting something in ourselves. Often these people show up in the people we choose to have romantic relationships with. If you have anger within yourself - you will often attract partners who also have anger issues.

If you have very deep anger issues even strangers you don't know such as shop-keepers and acquaintance at your work will all act angrily towards you. Because you have so much anger inside yourself, you are you attracting angry people everywhere you go.

The second types of people in our lives are those who are there to give you the gift of insight. Perhaps you are looking for information about something specific and someone will turn up with the exact thing you are looking for.

For example you may have been looking for the answer to something. And then someone you meet gives you a book containing the very answer you are searching for. This category of people is there to act as messengers.

The third types of people are those who set something into motion to support you. You may or may not know these people well. Perhaps someone has a contact that has the ability to launch your career. They are pivotal people who you can pin-point at helping you at crucial moments in your life.

It is helpful to pay more attention to the people who grace your life. Everyone you meet has a purpose in your life. When you become more aware of this you can use it to your advantage.
