What is a Baby Monitor and How it Works?

Baby monitors are not only gadgets that can make parenting better for busy parents but are also life savers in more ways than one. If you are thinking of buying a set of these, this is the best time to know more about the functions of this gadget.

Baby monitors is a set up gadgets. The basic types are the audio monitors. It comes with a receiver and transmitter. They usually look like walkie talkies-only smaller and cuter.

The transmitter is placed in your baby's bedroom. It picks up sounds in your baby's room and the sound is transmitted to the receiver. This receiver is held by parents. They can either carry it with them or attach it to their belts so they can hear the sounds their baby is making even at a remote distance.

The range depends on the brand you are using. Some can pick up signals even when you are in the yard or garden. Also, there are brands that include video monitoring. The monitor comes with an audio and a video device that can pick up sounds from your baby's room and can let you see what is happening inside through its monitor.

Some Common Features
Most of the monitors available in the market today can measure the temperature in the room of your baby so you can monitor if the room is too hot or too cold for comfort. There are also monitors with a sensitive pad. This pad is placed under your baby's mattress so you can detect slight movements. This helps parents monitor their baby's breathing and to prevent sudden infant death. When no movement is detected for 20 seconds, it sends off an alert signal to the receiver.

Another good feature of audio monitors is the lullaby feature. The receiver is equipped with buttons for parents to choose music that can be played in the transmitter. Also, it allows parents to talk back to their children.

Some video monitors also have a tilt and pan feature. When your baby moves out of your line of vision, you can tilt the camera and scan the room using your receiver. This way, there is no need to go up to the room of your baby to adjust the camera.

Baby monitors mean two things: security and convenience. If you want to feel secured about monitoring your baby while doing everyday work, get a baby monitor.
