One can say the reason why there are so many divorces is due to the fact that many don't try to save their marriages. This can also be the reason why the number of marriages has decreased in recent times. Furthermore, one in three marriages fails with an end result of divorce. This must be the reason why the official Divorce Records purported that they are one of the most crucial data and statistics administration mandated by U.S. law.

Getting a divorce in the United States is pretty simply even though legal professionals play a large role in these situations. In fact, many have become so accustomed to divorce that they regard it as a lifestyle. All in all, divorce records are always documented and this has been so from 1967, the year it was instituted by the Freedom of Information Act.

These documents can be accessed at the State Department put in charge of this provision. Even though it is free for all, there is a small fee attached in order to supplement the search which is not at all so for commercial providers. To obtain certified documents with original content, a request can be made to the county or district agency in which the divorce was finalized. This is also for divorce records searches outside the central catalogue.

At a central level, free divorce records provides the personal details of the divorcees including the couple's names, their children's names and other aspects such as financial settlement, asset division, alimony, child custody and visitation rights. All this is made public for the U.S. citizens who wish to access this information.

Government agencies provide this information to you whether you walk in, telephone and mail or fax these locations. But the most popular way is by using the internet to access these records. Depending on the above selection, waiting time spans from the same day to weeks and even months! All in all, fees are not fived and as such are usually at subsidized levels.

More importantly, these records can be accessed on private websites but it must be noted that these sites also carry numerous spyware and viruses; hence they should be avoided. Instead, there is the reliance of professional record providers. These sites might carry a small fee but that ensures security and quality. Simultaneously, they provide all the records from each state which provides more convenience for the seeker.
