If Nostradamus were alive today, he would be predicting the chaos that is the News of our times. He would not be doing predictions for the year 2525. He would have his own show and you would see him being interviewed regularly. It seems that the economic, political, and financial decisions our leaders make have made victims of many. Devastating weather has created cities of homeless people. Both terrorism and technology are changing the face of the globe. Movies depicting the end of the world in 2012 are popular, draining hope and producing fear in many. Knowing what is coming in the future has been looked at, after the fact, as everything from a lucky guess to a spot-on prophecy depending on who you talk to.
The events Nostradamus predicted happened many years or centuries after he died. These events could be easily retro-fitted to match his predictions. Plus, he had to obscure the meaning of his future predictions from the Church by camouflaging them in Quatrains that are interpreted differently by those who have studied him. So, what is all the fuss about Nostradamus? Was he a true seer of the future who clearly saw these events coming? Or, was he the dial-up psychic of his time predicting things, that if you allowed enough time to pass, something like it would eventually happen? After all, if you predict the stock market is going to fall, eventually you are right.
He would have his own show with stories about his life on TV. He would seem to think he deserves this and that he was very popular. I would surmise that his popularity has got a lot to do with the fact that people have given up on the regular news. You know, the news reports delivered from a corporate bias with a government slant. In fact, if you listen to news broadcasts from different countries about the same topic, you get different stories. Also, if you stop to think about it, the news is not really new at all, is it? It is basically a history lesson about what has already happened. They are far from being Nostradamus. In fact, the only part of the Evening News that is a prediction is the weather.
The thinking person not only wants to know what happened yesterday but what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year that is going to affect them. They would especially like to know what is going to affect them negatively. If a typhoon is going to hit New York City next month, that would probably be a good time to be in Miami. What about the real estate market, earth changes, the stock market, sports, crime, the global economy and politics? It would be nice if you could tune into The Nostradamus Show on the News and get his take on the near future and not the one centuries from now when you are not here to appreciate it?
