Plastic surgery techniques are focused on restoring form and function. While most people would associate plastic surgery with aesthetic reasons with bodily modifications, reconstructive surgery also belongs to this surgery category.

· Aesthetic/ Cosmetic - Aesthetic surgery techniques are aimed at refining or changing one's appearance. It may be minimal or over all. Cosmetic surgery targets the enhancement of one's appearance. For some, it may be contouring one's body shape; enhancing the breasts and the buttocks; elimination of cellulite, fats and wrinkles. Others, hair transplantation; nose lift and eyelid tightening. The many variances are the techniques men and women choose to be performed in them to improve their appearance and their self-confidence. It also includes scar removal, laceration repair, hand surgery and the like.
