What Is a Squeeze Page?

Expert Author Sandi White

In my experience one of the keys to success with a squeeze page is for prospective customers to understand that they cannot access any additional information or product that is offered without opting in to the subscriber list. Once a person has entered their name and email address in my optin form I forward this information to an autoresponder program. This is one of my most valuable tools for direct marketing and allows a new subscriber to receive information 24 hours a day without any need for my intervention I can contact the subscriber without doing anything. My subscriber generally has to verify that they do in fact want to subscribe to the list and after this a second email will give them instructions on how to access further information.

The list is the life-blood of any direct marketing company. What is a Squeeze Page if not a tool for a business to gather names of prospective customers? This is the very reason it was designed a quality list cannot be bought but must be built up and you have to be aware that not everyone is going to opt in to your list.

One way to increase the number of sign-ups to your list is to offer a free product this will certainly add to the total quantity of prospective clients.

What is a Squeeze Page with a good conversion rate?

A good test of a converting page has carried out by Stuart Ross my mentor, he has completed extensive testing of a squeeze page with static content and a page that carries the same message but delivered by a video which provides a more personal brand. The video page has proved to have a far higher conversion rate than the static content.

The number of people who sign up for your list and then buy your product afterwards is called the conversion rate. The higher the conversion rate, the more effective your sales pitch is. This squeeze page will generate a lot of subscribers, but converting this into a purchase has to do with your follow-up sales. An average conversion rate is typically 20 percent in the industry. But an outstanding marketing person can get as high as 50 percent conversion rate off a well-made squeeze page.

It begins with a single landing page with no links to anything. Only by signing up will a person have access to the site they are looking for. You need to create a page that instills trust in a person so that they will then have no problem giving you their credit card number. In our example the trust is built by the video, people like to buy from other people and a video personalizes the transaction and will increase the responsiveness to the squeeze page therefore increasing the conversion rates.
