Investors are increasingly looking at property as a secure form of investment, which has stood the test of time. What investors look for in deals concerning property is primarily related to their valuation. It is a known fact that the value of land as well as property in the form of apartments, single family homes, business establishments or industrial estates keep appreciating as time goes by, especially if these are located in prime areas.

The astute investor looks for whatever advantages he or she can get from this appreciation which may even take the form of windfall gains if the property sits on or near a suddenly notified priority development zone. Profits can be made in the short term by buying property at hugely discounted rates below market value and then reselling at or near the market price. In the longer term, as already mentioned, property situated in the most happening zones of a city or town will appreciate at a faster rate than those in other areas and it therefore makes sense to invest in such property. Another thing that many investors appreciate about dealing in property is that violent fluctuations are rarely a concern in this type of investment.

Shares and similar instruments may give a much higher rate of return on investment but the risks there are sometimes too hot to handle for the average investor. Rental income is another area of interest to the investor looking for good deals in property investing, especially if this comes in a steady flow and without the scourge of missed payments and long vacancies.
