• Once you are sent a nanny for interview, ask for credentials and references if any; the reason why they left their previous employment etc. Double check by calling their previous employer about all information that the nanny gives you.
• Ask openly for permission and have it signed before doing a thorough background check on the potential nanny. You need to be sure that she does not have any past criminal record or ever been a part of any other controversy. A drinking problem must also be ruled out. Any history of drug intake must also be ruled out.
• A medical history which rules out the existence of any infectious disease is also very important to obtain before the final decision.
