Resistant yeast infections are on the increase among women because of the easy availability now of OTC treatments and oral drugs online. More women now buy these creams and oral anti fungal drugs to treat their infections without the supervision of their doctor.
These drugs are powerful, and really shouldn't be used any time you think you need them, and they need to be used for the correct amount of time. Yeast creams that are suppose to be used for 7 days are regularly being used for 2 or 3 days because this is the time it usually takes the symptoms of a Candida infection to disappear.
The problem arises when the treatment is stopped, but the infection is still there. Just because the symptoms go before the 7 days are up doesn't mean all of the fungus has been killed.
When the treatment is stopped the symptoms return and the fungus that has survived becomes more resistant, and then the cycles begins again with the fungus becoming more resistant until it is completely resistant and the anti fungal drugs just make the infection stronger instead of curing it.
To cure a resistant yeast infection you must strengthen all of your body's natural defenses so the Candida yeast can no longer mutate. You need to kill the fungus as well, but you need to do it without drugs as these are only going to cause more resistance.
Once you have reversed the damage the anti fungal drugs have caused you will be infection free. The important thing is, you must prevent the yeast that lives in your body naturally from mutating into an infection causing organism.
