What Benefits You Can Get From Jogging Exercise?

Running can give us many benefits as you will observe from many people. You see, I just did a jogging program to improve my health condition per my doctor's advise. I am already 60 years old and at my age, the joint pains are common and  tend to move slower. Even at my age, I think exercise by jogging is still possible if you do it right. Do you want to know what benefits I received aside from getting physically fit? For your information, here are the benefits I am enjoying right now:

First, you will loss weight. The amount of weight you will lose depends on the how much time and the pace of your jogging. I loose 10 lbs. on my first month and it I felt it very rewarding and had a feeling of self accomplishment. It was a nice feeling to feel lighter again.

Second, it improved my stamina. When I first started running I spent only 15 minutes. Gradually I increased it until I have reached one hour. It is safe to jog at your own pace, this way you are not abusing your heart. Slowly you will be able to develop the stamina to run for a longer period and jog at a much faster pace.

Third, it can push you physically to do more and work harder. Prior to my jogging program, I am suffering from back pain for just standing for about an hour. After two weeks of jogging, my back pain was  gone. Even my joint knee pain disappeared too.

Fourth, it can help improve your memory and release your stress. The scientific explanation from the Doctors is that doing exercise like running increase the supply of oxygen to your brain, thereby making your brain cells more healthy. It releases some chemical compound that helps your mind and body more relaxed.

Fifth, it can help you maintain a normal blood pressure. It strengthens your heart and reduce the risk of having a heart attack.   

Lastly, it can increase your self confidence. Being able to move faster, feeling more lighter and being able to work for more longer hours makes me think I am still doing a good performance on my job.

You will have to jog regularly to assure of these benefits and it requires self discipline to do it. It is easy to get distracted and loose the will the continue. You have to psyche yourself to continue your fitness program. One way of having motivation is to always think of its benefits. Once it has become a habit, you will not have any problem of missing your workout. We can prolong and enjoy our lives by this simple exercise. Let us start doing it now, before it is too late.
